  • Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me of the other examples. Pineapple in sweet and sour is the only reason I don't eat sweet and sour, and I cannot eat any curries that have raisins or sultanas in them. Pineapple on pizza is one that I'm surprisingly okay with, mainly because I've been eating ham and pineapple pizza since I was a kid and it seems perfectly normal.

  • I eat cooked fruit on its own, or in a pie, if it's not too acidic. But one thing I cannot stand is fruit cooked with or served with meat. My in-laws are the worst for it, they serve roast pork with apple sauce, roast beef with cranberry sauce, ham baked with oranges and served with mango chutney, and they have apricot chicken on a weekly basis.

I don't know who decided that was a normal thing to do, but it's disgusting.

  • My father used to do that. It was like his signature move. He didn't eat cupcakes often, but when he did he would love to watch the horror on our faces when he ate the whole thing at once, including the wrapper.

  • This is the reason I use it too.

I first installed it when the Teams web client stopped working properly in Firefox. I installed Edge, and it worked well. Also noticed Teams in Edge allows me to turn on background blur, where that was disabled on Firefox and Chrome in Linux. Then I tried PWAs, and found the Edge support for installing and running PWAs is second to none, so now I run Outlook 365 and Teams as PWAs.

Firefox is still my primary browser, but I don't use Chrome anymore. Edge has become my chromium-based browser of choice. Somehow Microsoft has built a better Chrome than Google does.

  • Christmas was a Roman holiday called Saturnalia before the Christians reappropriated it.

I don't place any relious meaning on Christmas, but I celebrate it because humans have been celebrating roughly the same event at roughly the same time every year for over 2000 years.

  • I'm the same. If I abandon societal norms and work commitments, and let my body adjust to its preferred cycle, I sleep 9 hours, 1am till 10am. I think that's pretty common, but not useful when I work every day 8.30am till 5.30pm. It means I wake up every day tired, even if I went to bed at 9pm.
