  • Exactly.

Palestinians have rejected peace deal after peace deal for the better part of a century, and have never ONCE offered a solution to this situation that didn't spell the death of Israel.

The idea that Israel had the power to end this is just demonstrably false.

  • Yeah, I mean killing Jewish civilians is the only way! Palestinians have been doing it for decades, and it hasn't ever worked, but it's the only way!

They've tried nothing else, but this is the only way!

  • Israel's right-wing government is becoming anti-democratic, and their position on settlements is antagonistic.

But Hamas is pro-genocide, happily murders Jewish children, and use their own children as meat shields.

It bothers me that people equate these two.

    They aren't the same.

  • Historically, violence has solved a lot of things. Notably the civil war and WWII, which ended slavery and Nazis, respectively.

And Israel kicking their aggressive neighbors' asses as solved the problem of them worrying about their existence.

And violence against terrorists has greatly reduced their ability to hurt Israel in the long run.

I'd argue that history has shown that violence has been working out pretty well for the Israelis.

Now, the Palestinians on the other hand... They never take out military targets, only civilians, which does nothing to weaken Israel, and only strengthen's Israel's resolve.

I think it's clear that the Palestinians are the ones who need to take a note from Martin Luther King or Gandhi about the benefits of passive resistance.

  • What a stupid take.

Israel goes out of us way to destroy terrorist INFRASTRUCTURE instead of people, and you whine about it like it's a bad thing?

If some organization thought my home was an enemy base, and sent me an SMS message to give me enough time to get my kids out, I'd be pissed about the house, but my family would be alive.

Compare that to Hamas who deliberately target civilians.

  • If people actually cared about the Palestinian civilians, they would have been encouraging them to make peace.

Instead, for decades people have been cheering on their terrorism as if their indiscriminate killing of Jews was justified.

  • "They didn't stand up to Trump" makes it sound like Trump is something that happened to them.

No. They welcomed Trump with open arms. They bent over backwards to defend Trump.

They changed their entire identity to become all about Trump.

When Trump cozied up to Russia, they started loving Russia.

When Trump tried to overthrow the election, they stormed the capital for him, and protected him from impeachment.

They are all as culpable as Trump.

  • I'm an AOC fan but calling on Israel to deescalate is just insane right now.

That would be like some county asking the US to deescalate the day after the 9/11 attacks.

What? No. Hamas needs to be stamped out.

  • Palestinians are the only ones who can end this conflict. It's been half a century, and they have never once been willing to accept a solution that didn't include "Right of Return"... a mechanism by which they would overwhelmingly claim voting rights in Israel, and essentially vote Israel into an anti-Jewish Muslim theocracy.

Israel won't agree to any peace deal that would see it voted out of existence.

Israel is also able to thrive even under the threat of terrorism.

    They can wait forever.

The ball is in the Palestinians's court.

This conflict will be over the day they say to themselves, "hey gang... Uh, I don't think we're going to get our land back. And I'm tired of living in poverty. Let's take the shit peace deal and get some land and autonomy, and look forward instead of backward.

There's no other way this ends. Anything else is a fantasy.

And I've never seen the anti-Israel crowd come up with a single coherent rebuttal to this.
