  • Revolutions are most closely correlated with food insecurity, yes.

But in today's JIT economy, and the vulnerability of our supply chains, it's not hard to imagine a set of circumstances where suddenly a huge swath of the population suddenly not knowing where their next three meals are coming from.

  • Trump should have been behind bars since the afternoon of Jan 6.

He should have been impeached immediately, and arrested and indicted for inciting an insurrection.

And every Republican in Congress should have been 100 percent on board with that.

But... If we set aside for a moment that they are a party of traitors, that still doesn't explain why Merrick Garland wasn't putting the cuffs on Trump the day he was sworn in as the new AG.

IT'S ABSOLUTE MADNESS THAT TRUMP IS ALLOWED TO WALK AROUND FREE. In our entire history, we've never come closer to losing our democracy. Including the civil war.

  • I wonder if the ultra rich understand just how much genuine malice is directed at them.

People were cheering for the submarine to implode.

It really seems like the world is full of tinder, waiting for a spark.

  • I think what we have here is a "Brewster's Millions" situation, where Musk is bound to a secret contact where he has to lose a ton of money with nothing to show for it in order to win a larger fortune.

  • What I'd really like to know is what percent of those election deniers are actually too stupid to understand the concept of evidence-based reasoning, and what percent totally understand that they are supporting a debunked position, but would rather have power than integrity.

  • That there wasn't a single mainstream Republican who stood up to Trump during his presidency.

I mean, come on. Who wrote this?

We're supposed to believe that EVERY SINGLE REPUBLICAN in government went from taking about how unfit Trump was when he was a candidate ... to standing behind him 100% even when he cozied up to Russia, paid hush money to a porn star, and lied about a Presidential election?

  • Someday in the not too distant future, we'll have the technology to swap actors in and out of roles in movies. Not just the masking stuff we see with deep fakes, but fully alter the timing and dialog and reactions.

  • Actually, in that scenario, it would be more important than ever, assuming Trump was taking office. Biden muddying the waters with inappropriate pardons would weaken any attempt by the courts to stop Trump from pardoning himself.

  • When Democrats have control we get worker protections, affordable healthcare, civil rights protections, infrastructure investments, etc.

When Republicans are in charge we get nothing but corruption.
