Hm, maybe I should give listenbrainz another go then. Thanks for the recommendation! I've used it for some time now to scrobble music so it should know what I'm listening to. Unfortunately my taste in music doesn't seem to be that predictable because all services I've tried out have been quite bad at it. I tend to go on manual deep dives into obscure music on bandcamp hopping from one artist to another. Most recommendations I get from algorithms like Spotify tend to be rather popular-focused music which I often don't really enjoy. (Not trying to be edgy here, don't think it is inherently better or worse to like mainstream stuff, this is just a genuine problem I frequently face).

Doesn't sound like it really exists as such but rather like it is used to flesh out the name.

Well, except for having to emotionally distance yourself from the world as a child because of trauma but later on being able to be much more emotional in another language because it doesn't come with all that baggage. At least that has been my experience being in a relationship speaking only in my third language.

Alternatively, you could hop from one reference manager to another spending months trying to find the best workflow but never quite settling on any. At least that was my strategy of getting around actually reading the damn articles...

"Life" or rather the fetus at the time when abortions are usually done is not worth as much as the person's bodily autonomy who carries the fetus. It is a lump of cells, its worth is mostly an ideological one. Maybe we should stop torturing and killing animals (LIFE!) instead of caring so much about a lump of cells without any feelings or sensations. Just shouting "LiFE" doesn't give any fetus any extra worth, this is the patriarchy trying to regain power over women's bodies again. It is a massive double standard to care more about a cell lumps life but not about the carrier's.

It works, but since the beginning of the year there haven't been any updates to the xmanager version anymore and various functionalities have been lost. Really annoying when shuffle is on by default for example :(

(Edit: maybe more correct to say that since about half a year the xmanager team is only releasing experimental versions since Spotify made some major changes to their software.)

I quite often find bees sleeping in flowers in my garden. Especially inside Campanula flowers. Always so adorable to see them :)

You can actually eat the individuals that have not yet emerged from the ground. They look like eggs and are pretty weird/soft in touch. If you slice them really thin and fry them, they are delicious. In German they are also called "witch eggs" (Disclaimer: I'm living in Germany and it might be different for the stinkhorns elsewhere.)

What? Making a nice graph in excel? But yeah, ggplot2 does have a pretty steep learning curve. Once you learned it a bit it is really nice though. I love ggplot2 ❤️

In German, some people (especially men) use the phrase "I have pee in my eyes" for when they feel emotional or might want to cry. Maybe they are not emotional but instead are truly lobsters after all??

Luckily Elizabeth Holmes isn't in biotech anymore (because she is in prison)!
