  • Fuck the CCP, but the US also has bread lines. We call it food stamps and make grocery stores deal with it.

But like 12.6% of our population (41.9 / 331.9) is on it, not counting people who don't qualify and have to rely only on food banks, soup kitchens, etc.

  • Could also be small amounts that are considered safe by the testing. The human nose is actually pretty powerful - we just keep it up in the air so it doesn't help us as much as a dog's that is glued to the ground, but when drinking a glass of water you kind of have to stick your nose right in it.

Residents should try lighting the water. If it catches, it's definitely not safe.

  • I vote every time I'm able, but sure, go off.

It doesn't matter what I do as far as voting, because my area is gerrymandered to such a degree that even my relatively left leaning area goes to a republican most of the time. We are vastly outnumbered in statewide and national elections. But I vote anyway. The voting is smooth here because they don't give a shit because it's all be rigged for over a decade via the legislature.

The places where voting is NOT smooth tend to be the places where republicans used to win, now have trouble, but don't quite have the power base to gut the whole thing, so they just add layers of complexity to shave off democrat votes in hopes they'll get enough to make it permanent.

Stop trying to act like this giant country, with 50 different ways of handling elections, is somehow a one size fits all, and that any failure is the lowest, least influential peoples' fault.

  • The thing is that most of the statues in question were not created prior to the civil war, or even directly after. They were funded and installed by people mad about reconstruction and later about desegregation. Many of the statues being discussed today were put in place in the 50s. They have no historical relevance except as a monument to the racists who wanted a large, visible reminder that they had power at one point, as a threat that they'd continue trying to gain it back.

  • It's not an excuse. Ignoring the systemic problems and blaming individual people who have literally no control is an abuse tactic, so it makes sense that would be the military's MO.

On a personal level, I operate the same way you describe. I do what I need to do, and I burn the energy and time and money that it takes to make that happen. But I have the choice to do so, and not everyone does.

Use the energy that would otherwise go to lambasting tired, poor, and overworked normal people and instead direct the anger at the people making us pay out the nose to have access to the basics, including the time needed to vote.

  • Find a gym with childcare. My local Y does, as do a few of the private gyms.

If you're religious, churches often are good places to meet people in similar situations to you. Even if you're not religious, or are politically progressive, there are congregations like Unitarians that may be a good thing to try.

Events at the library or park can be good.

  • "Regular folks are too lazy," to stand in line for hours, or were blocked by shitty regressive laws to block student votes, or their polling place was changed twice in a year, or any other of the myriad cheating mechanisms regressives have baked into the system.

  • When it all falls apart, he doesn't need a bailout. He leaves his investors holding the majority of the lost equity, pays off his portion, writes it off and carries it forward, and uses it to reduce his tax bill in upcoming years when he'll have a bunch of government contracts.

All of this looks stupid if you assume he's trying to run a profitable business. But he's not. He's moving cash flow through as many other of his own ventures that he can, and he'll cannibalize the rest. The only people who will actually lose money are normal citizens who will have to make up the list tax dollars.

  • You have set an unreasonable high threshold for when it's acceptable to want to change the situation.

If these people were driving, they'd be irresponsible and selfish in their cars too. Right now she's just gross. In a car, she's a dangerous weapon.

  • Absolutely false. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/gender-dysphoria/in-depth/pubertal-blockers/art-20459075

Look, you may have been lied to. Whoever or wherever told you this is permanent is using your anger and well placed desire to not see people get hurt to push their own agenda.

Please read up on this from non-right wing news sources. Medical sources, and direct stories from patients both young and hold. See how this stuff actually impacts people, because the points your making are well crafted astroturfing.

  • That's not what's happening. No child under 18 is receiving any surgical services to transition.

If you are talking about adults, fuck right off with that. Men have their tits removed all the time to conform more to their idea of gender, and women have both removal and additions to the same. That's not to mention the plethora of other cosmetic surgeries available to consenting adults.

This shit is 100% because regressive troglodytes need a Boogeyman, and no one is scared of generic gays anymore, so they needed a smaller subsection of the population to rile the masses up without risk that they might be friends already. Y'all are losing the culture war, so you want to make sure everyone else is as miserable as you are so that you can point to suicide rates and blame us for your abuse.

  • 100%, but there's a lot he can do with these losses too.

First and foremost, he definitely was forced to buy. He tried to back out after offering a price and having it accepted, because of "bots" - which he has since don't nothing to stop, so that was obviously just an attempt to get out.

But now that he does own it, he can use other people's money to carry forward losses to insulate his other cash flows from taxes. Literally a play out of Trumps book. What people neglect is that Trump failed on those casinos but still made money personally. It's all a shell game when you have enough money.

  • There's a lot to unpack here, and I'm not sure that I can do it justice.

This is one example of what happens when women are not involved in a space. It allows for casual misogyny, because men do not tend to call out other men for bad behavior, which further isolates women in the space and keeps new women from joining. Both as consumers as well as producers.

Having a more even spread across genders means that we should eventually see more content created for and by women, which in turn will make the whole thing more accessible, and may ultimately tamp down on some of the incel garbage that many online gamer spaces have allowed to fester.
