  • Could be worse, she could be stuck in a washing machine. How tf do you even get stuck in a washing machine? It just breaks immersion, how am I supposed to watch the rest of the video after an intro like that

  • Religious accelerationists are beyond my understanding. Provoke God into action? And how exactly do you plan to avoid God's judgement? I mean religious extremists often give impression like they think their God is stupid and you just need to find a loophole in the rules.

  • As a millennial born in the Balkans: economic collapse, hyperinflation, dictatorship, economic collapse, war, revolution, y2k, global economic crisis, end of the mayan calendar, semi-dictatorship, (self-imposed) exile, brexit, covid, war v3, climate crisis getting real, revolution again? (idk I don't live in my home country anymore), whatever the hell is happening now

    Interesting times indeed

  • I've seen reports of this kind of scam before, and it's fairly hard to defend against.

Unlike many scams, the scammers actually deliver what they are selling - the land. Of course they failed to mention it's useless if you plan to develop anything, but that's a lot harder to prove in court than a plain theft.

  • Ok, let me try to approach this seriously.
You need to figure out some things:

    1. Why did you cheat
    • Because you were angry with your wife?
    • Because you like the other woman?
    1. If a similar situation arises in the future how are you going to react
    • "I won't do it again" is not a good answer. "I'm going to do X instead" is better.

You don't have to respond to us here, think about these things and talk about it with your wife.

  • Neither - the words you mentioned are usually employed by people wanting to take advantage of you.
Distancing from it is a self-preservation thing, and sometimes a moral thing. People don't like being played, or doing bad things because someone told them it's for family/clan/country/etc.

  • To go into some more details-
Good: Serious crimes are punished - I don't expect anyone to get away with murder. There are no political crimes, you won't get imprisoned for being against the government. Minimal religious influence on laws.
Bad: Small crimes like theft is are not treated consistently. Unlike some who call for harsher penalties I disagree. I think the penalties are appropriate but a lot of cases go ignored. If every case was processed even with a metaphorical slap on the wrist, there would basically be no theft.
To be seen: Command responsibility. Recently there was a case where a government official's inaction during a natural disaster resulted in people dying. Some would have died anyway but it could have been minimized if they acted quickly. The trial is in progress, we'll see what comes of it, but the laws exist.

  • For religious people - because Christianity allows only one spouse.
For non-religious it has a bad reputation due to the way it used to be practiced in the Arab world (and elsewhere) where it's not symmetrical - a husband is allowed multiple wives but a wife is not allowed multiple husbands.

Lately there has been a rise in acceptance of polyamory - understanding that people may have multiple partners at the same time, and this should be accepted.
