It’s because Apple provides a very easy to integrate with SDK. A lot of apps I use have the same native UI, like YouTube and Plex, because of this.

I still need to put in the work to sub to all the alternatives. I had hundreds of subs and my front page was so curated. But now on Lemmy, I tried Hot for new/fresh content, but I have to browse Active most of the time due to the amount of just single up vote posts on Hot.

I just wish we had more people. I’m doing my part of being active though!

How so? I canvased for Yang in 2019, but after he dropped, I kinda just stopped thinking about him. I know he started the Forward Party, and he’s had some bad takes on homelessness, but how is he a wolf in sheep’s clothing? He apparently has a net worth of at least a couple million living in New York, but he’s in his 40’s, so that‘s not really that far off from normal businessmen.

Exactly. I see so many stickers in Seattle of “go home tech bros” talking about people who moved there and work in tech.

I would not include tech bros in that. Sure we can make a lot of money, but most tech bros are just making enough to have a mortgage on a condo in their city, or a house in the suburbs, which many other jobs can do.

I worked for a Mississippi company and made 50k out of college. I left in 2021 making $80k as a project manager and 4 years experience. Definitely nowhere near how much Magic the Gathering is making from her investment. Even now, I am making more, but $12k is still a crippling amount of money.

I didn’t degrade intelligence, just asking if we can stop using because it doesn’t help others who aren’t in the science space. I’m saying this in an open forum. Many people that say it do not understand this. They think that gravity is just absent. I was giving some context to help others.

Ikr?? Voting is so easy in my state. I get the ballot in the mail, like everyone in my state. I get a voting guide. I vote then drop it off 15 mins from my house. Everyone can vote even if they’re working.

Please stop saying gravity when you mean G forces. There is nowhere in our known universe where gravity isn’t a factor. The reason you can experience 0 G forces in orbit is BECAUSE of gravity. You’re free falling to earth constantly because it’s pulling you in.

0G’s is what you need want to say. Also microgravity is appropriate because it’s “low apparent gravitational forces.”

Huh? Use the remote app on your phone. It automatically pops up like a notification when there’s a text box on the screen. So easy. You can turn the box off by holding the power button for a few seconds. To close apps, you double tap the TV button and then it’s an iOS like interface that you scroll over and swipe up on the ones you want to close.

The UI is very minimal and the same across most all apps, so it’s easy to learn and use. It may be missing some power features, but most things are accessed via clicking of just holding.

I’m well aware of this chart. I actively push for using other drugs because of this. One way we can help the dangers of alcohol is by having a better public transit system.

Everyone has vices. Alcohol is very historical. We have alcohol in a lot of things, like a lot of food, so it’s impossible to get rid of it or even ban it.

I’m not one to put down someone else’s hobbies. My wife and friends and I all go out and drink for the flavor. Cocktails are entertaining and delicious, beer gardens and breweries have a chill laid back atmosphere and really helps us get out of the house. We don’t drink to get drunk. Sure, alcohol isn’t that healthy for us, but it takes the edge off. I can’t take mushrooms, weed, or LSD every day after work to relax. Booze is nice sometimes to just have a bit of a rounding out of the day.

There are many precautions that need to be in place to protect drunks from harming others, and I get that it’s exhausting to be around drunk people.

Hops are really awesome when used correctly, but many breweries just toss in hops to cover up bad bases. I’m lucky to have a few breweries around me that make really goods stouts and sours.

That’s the problem. A lot of people are living in and around cities now. We buy beer at the brewery. Do these figures include 1st party sells? Distributors have always been a necessary evil and many states have laws saying you must go through a distributor for selling elsewhere, but many breweries are just doing taprooms now to not have to deal with that. I’d like to see those stats if they exist.

I do understand that many people are buying seltzers now, myself included.

It’s actually more efficient (in terms of energy) to drive an EV over a regular bike based on what food you eat.

Now E bikes are the best.

I just made a 2,500 mile road trip in the USA. It’s not bad at all. I’ve done it twice now. There are chargers everywhere (for Tesla) and it just works. If you’re in Canada, there’s chargers all along the 1. But you can’t go much north of there without using third party chargers.

I’m not sure how many it has, but is only for 4 hours. If you have charging at home, it’s too much hassle to charge at work and fight the crowd. It’s for people that need it. And charging for 4 hours on 240v 40a will be 48kWh, which is 144 miles. You only need that every few days. But it is a huge parking garage in the city. It can definitely handle 200 EVs charging if they wire it up right.

I’ve only had an EV for 2.5 years. It just works. It’s good and reliable. It’s not “let’s wait”time anymore. I’ve driven to the country in Canada and camped in the heat with my AC and made it back to a charging station. They’re everywhere now. It’s not 2015 anymore.

The price does need to come down still though.

True. But the coolant is for the battery, not for a combustion engine that is constantly hot, so it’s hardly ever changed. I use 120v at my apartment to charge. It gets me about 5 miles per hour. Because I live in a city, I’m not driving all the time, it works for me. I see people using extension cord across the sidewalk on my way to work. Our city, Seattle, is building charging infrastructure. Most work garages have chargers, so it’s still charging at work.

There are still less moving parts than an ICE though, meaning there is less to go wrong. An electric motor isn’t running from friction like many parts of an ICE.

An EV isn’t for everyone, but it will work for most people once the price comes down.

You have less moving parts so there’s also no replacing fuses, coolant, belts, etc. and then you also don’t have to go to the gas station every week. It’s just simply charging at your home.

Yep. I’ve had my few issues, but there has been way less maintenance.
