  • Vim has a better way, it's called :set clipboard=unnamedplus (alternatively, one can bind anything else to copy/paste to/from system cliboards). Not sure why would one use a mouse for this, honestly

  • Idk if it surprises anyone, really. Besides, given those apps are trying to eat yt music's lunch, it was more or less a matter of google considering them popular enough to take actively hostile measures... So, unsustainable in the long term, I guess.

  • Vimusic has been abandoned for like 2 years already. As for the others, there were issues for a quite while; besides, it's not the 1st time yt changing some crap broke them. IMO, it's about the right time to go navidrome + headphones + whatever provides recommendations (if you need those)

  • Given qi2 uses magnets to properly align the coils in the phone and the charger, it should result in generating less heat and overall greater efficiency, so it very well may generate less or the same amount of heat [edit: despite the higher amount of energy transmitted ]... That is, if your phone supports it. But all things considered, it'll unlikely ever be as efficient, and, hence, warmer than a regular wired charger. I mean, you're pretty much going ac → dc in the power supply, then dc → ac in the inductive charger, then again ac → dc in the phone itself for no particular reason. That being said, pd also runs quite hot at times, so, IMO, smth like plain old 5v 1amp charger would be more preferable given the use-case

  • I'm wondering if those criminals are by chance mentally challenged. A private and "secure" phone with a proprietary "secure" messenger hidden as a calculator app... Doesn't the word "anom" ring any bells for them?

  • Idk, vr porn is creepy af. Or at least it used to be 5 yrs ago or so... Imagine a girl so huge one her tit is bigger than your head, for example. So, yeah, I noped out pretty much instantly

  • I'm wondering if syncthing in gplay can show some kind of warning that the app is discontinued pointing to use the fork version on f-droid, or, if that's prohibited by play's EUFOA (end-user fuckover agreement), discussion on the forums mentioning the existence of said fork... [addit: So, kinda like what termux folks did, but less covertly]

  • I'm not sure you can classify this as a failure, as explicitly prohibiting interfacing with non-agpl stuff would greatly limit the amount of stuff you can license under it, perhaps up to the point of making it generally unusable. As for "not like that"... Well, yeah. But you can't deny it's misleading, right? Free software kinda implies you can modify it whatever you want, and if it's a free ui relying on a source-available middleware... Turns out, not so much.

Although, a posdible solution would be require explicitly mentioning if you're basically a front-end for something; but I'm not sure if it can be legally distinguished from the rest of use-cases.
