The Ascent keeps going on sale for $9 so I'm mildly tempted to pick it up, but the reviews for it are horrible. Notably, people talk about frequent crashes and losing all progress. Have you noticed these as serious issues in your time with the game?
On a related note, it blows my mind into pieces when I'm standing behind people in line who clearly have no idea how to self checkout. I don't get it. Self checkout has been around for like 25 years. It's not new and it's not complicated.
I had fun for about 5 seconds when I spawned in with 120 other people at the start of a map. Dozens of people were chatting at once over voice comm. When the timer ended we all surged forward in a big monke wave and some guy was playing Black Sabbath's "Paranoid" - that was really, truly fun.
Then the rest of the time I spent getting sniped from forever away by unseen snipers, getting base camped, and spawning in on my squad mates and dying right away. I realized just how bad the grind would be to unlock the weapons and I reflexively noped out of BattleBit.
People seemed friendly enough but it just wasn't my cup of tea.
It depends on how high your expectations are and how valuable $45 is to you.
I found it really fun for the first few hours, then it got really boring. It sucks you in for the first few hours (cough, the 2 hour Steam refund window, cough) then doesn't just drop off in excitement and quality, it crashes into a wall.
Wait til this goes on sale for $20 or less in the future.
Maybe someone can fill me in on this because I don't know anything about it. "LibsofTiktok" is clearly just a right wing actor making liberal viewpoints look stupid, yeah? No one who actually identifies as "liberal" would ever willingly call themself a "lib."
If you're in the house, just use an elaborate series of mirrors.
If you're somewhere else, just use an even longer elaborate series of mirrors.
