  • A pie is more than three alphanumerical characters to you. You can eat pie, things like nutrition, digestion, taste, smell, imagery all come to mind for you.

When you hear a prompt and formulate a sentence about pie you don't compile a list of all words and generate possible outcomes ranked by statistical approximation to other similar responses.

  • Yeah no shit, AI doesn't think. Context doesn't exist for it. It doesn't even understand the meanings of individual words at all, none of them.

Each word or phrase is a numerical token in an order that approximates sample data. Everything is a statistic to AI, it does nothing but sort meaningless interchangeable tokens.

People cannot "converse" with AI and should immediately stop trying.

  • I haven't trusted Mozilla for a long time. They've very shadily constructed a business model which is part for-profit corporation seperated from their other nonprofit component which appears to serve little purpose other than optics. Most of their funding comes from / came from Google. Their suits make a lot of terrible statements about emerging tech all the time.

  • This Axios Article looks like somebody tried to convert PowerPoint slides into a webpage.

Did she say anything bad about the Holocaust Promoting before she stepped down or did she just soak in the 2023 Nostalgia?

  • Yeah because I sure as heck don't have a server, a backup server, a backup backup server, and a second backup backup server but a billion dollar business does and more.

Even when Linus tech tips had a setup exactly like that, it failed. The technical requirements for highly secure and reliable long term storage are worth more than the money I have saved in BTC.

  • Okay but how do you create billions of diverse native species in South Dakota and ship them across the entire nation while they're all actively hostile to each other?

You would need to create competitive local pollinator markets in every state or risk creating a famine by banning Honeybees.

Like it or not, nature cannot handle Humans in the numbers we currently exist in and Honeybees are a part of our food chain to sustain those numbers.

  • I think it's accurate. The article points out that Varroa Mites have become resistant to all known chemical pesticides used to control them previously. So if A) Bees develope resistance tot he virus spread by the Mites or B) humans develop new mite control solutions, then there won't be a death spiral.
