  • I hadn't heard of this.

The FAQ says it's not a 1 for 1 replacement. There's a lot of features which can't be ported.

It's probably better than nothing for most people, but not as good as uBO was.

Still, I wonder why it's not mentioned more often.

  • Meh.

Librewolf already breaks loads of websites with it's fingerprinting resistance - just get used to turning it off.

In any case, you already need a chromium fork handy for all the sites that just plain don't support firefox any more. I've run in to weird issues in firefox that don't arise in chromium several times in the last month. This is going to get much worse.

As for changing browsers. I don't care very much. I don't use many browser features like bookmarks or passwords.

  • I agree with you pretty much on all points.

    I am also conflicted.

It's up to courts and parole boards to determine what punishments are appropriate, given the context of the crimes.

I don't like the guy, and of course his crime was repugnant, but I can still acknowledge that he's one of the best volleyball players in the world. These two opinions are incongruous and yet, they exist at the same time.

  • The article seems to be based on a number of flawed premises.

Firstly, that chatgpt is the only LLM. It's not, and better, stronger, cheaper alternatives are likely to emerge.

Secondly, that LLMs are a step on the way to AGI. Like any minute now they're going to evolve. They're not, they're a one trick pony which is making coherent sentences. That's it.

  • I hope so too. I'm sure they are.

That said I honestly expect Kampala to wipe the floor with trumps toupee even on her worst day.

His last performance really showed he's a one trick pony, and his one trick isn't that good.

Even if she just ignored the moderator, and ignored trump, and just talk about his shady dealings, legal problems, and shitty record as pres.

  • "We're happy to discuss further debates after the one both campaigns have already agreed to," he added. "Mr. Anytime, anywhere, anyplace should have no problem with that unless he's too scared to show up on the 10th."

    Gold.

  • There's no way in hell I will ever own a toothbrush with any sort of connectivity, but electric toothbrushes really are pretty great. Teeth feel way cleaner.

I've heard the sonic ones are amazing because they can clean the pockets between the gum and tooth... never had the money for that though.

  • I agree.

In the 70s everyone thought there would be a nuclear apocalypse.

A few decades before that children were born intended to be used as free labour for subsistence agriculture.

Yes climate change is a threat unlike any we've ever faced, yes its getting worse quicker than we thought, and yes population reduction is one way to mitigate it... but I don't think that makes it wrong to have a child.

  • He can vote too

  • Yeah, that does sound nice, but just doesn't feel like it's within the realm of possibility. Lots can change in the next 3 months I guess.

Obviously I'd like to see Kamala win with a clear mandate.

I'm not sure it's really possible for Trump to be forgotten at this point.

I'd dearly like to see him in jail. I'm sick to death of watching him slip around the legal system without any consequences.
