  • I'm so weary of this genocide narrative.

Yes, the situation in Pallestine is terrible. Yes, it seems like Biden enabled it.

The thing is, there's so much more at stake here. Did you see the part people are doing Nazi Salutes now? Or any of the executive orders signed in the last 24 hours?

Things are getting so much worse.

  • I was thinking the same. There should be a rule at any posts about these cunts needs to include their names in the title or something.

The constant feed of these cunts every action is not conducive to positive mental health. I get it. Shits fucked. I don't need to read about it all day.

Filtering by community is impractical in some cases.

That said, using thunder on android I can filter by keyword... is there an alternative front end for the desk top that allows the same?

  • So you didn't vote for Kamala, criticised her campaign, and are here accusing Dem supporters of helping Trump get elected.

Sorry mate that's just all sorts of ass-backwards bonkers.

I don't see many people saying that Kamala ran a flawless campaign. It's pretty obvious that the Dems did a pretty terrible job, but to strut around saying everyone else helped Trump get elected just because they werent more critical of Kamala is just daft.

  • None of this supports your assertion that the commenter above helped get Trump elected?

    recent polls suggesting [...]

I'd like to see those polls. This doesn't really make much sense to me. If you wanted someone to reduce casualties in Israel, why would you vote for Trump?

There were people protesting about genocide outside democrat rallies. Weird that no one was protesting about that outside Trump rallies.

I think it's a grave mischaracterization to say dissenting opinions on genocide were banned or censored. Since the dawn of time, campaigning politicians haven't wanted to talk about issues that they're unable or unwilling to solve.

  • I have 1 year old twins.

It's been a tough road all the way along. Years of IVF, complex and stressful pregnancy, some serious health issues at first. Everyone fit and well now.

It's kind of odd to be asked whether I regret anything. Like do I regret having an arm, or do I regret that the world is round.

I will say that it's a genuine privilege to be involved in their lives every day and to be with them when they experience things.

  • Mental conditioning and altered behavior.

If you're not used to it the heat can feel oppressive. Some kind of lizard-brain response telling you that the heat is a threat that must be mitigated immediately. Once you get used to it you realise that it's just mild discomfort and that it's not harmful (except for sun burn, heat stroke, et cetera).

You also alter your behavior in simple ways that may not occur to you if you're not used to a hot climate. Like... make mid-day the least active part of your day. You're not going to just duck down to the shops for a bite at 1pm.

  • I think the title is intended to lead to partisan turf wars.

I don't necessarily agree with the beginner vs expert thing.

I've been using linux for many years but I certainly don't have any magical expert knowledge or intuition. When I have driver trouble I google it and copy whatever commands seem sensible.

It's probably better to say that some distros are more configurable from the desktop than others. As in, if you're going to get grumpy about using the command line then mint or ubu might be your best choices.

That said, in my experience linux GUIs rarely expose all of the underlying features of whatever service they're interacting with. (For example, gnomes disk management GUI).
