Totally. It was (in his mind) an antagonistic strategy game of the dm vs the players. The dm dreaming up elaborate plans to crush the players. It was ... a style but it wasn't always fair.

If you don't mind, what settings do you use? I tried it at launch and quickly got frustrated.

Gary was part of bringing a cool game into existence. He was also a bit of a power tripping jerk. Just look at the monsters he built. "Oh no! A random monster came along and destroyed all your stuff! How terrible for you."

Just like Morrissey or Kevin Spacey or any other person who has created something cool but also happened to be awful.

Are you implying that the various cloud vendors lie about the way they configure their environments or admins don't have emotional biases or something else entirely?

there are too many points of failure for me to ever be comfortable using the cloud as a primary storage option.

If everything that you run is local as in the same physical location and there is no requirement for external or internet access then sure. Not everyone has that luxury. Otherwise, There are the same number of points of failure in a non-cloud configuration. You just feel more comfortable with those because you have direct hands on control.

Not the OP but for me it takes like 4 times longer to use the tuch screen. Find the button for what i want. Do you want to super-sized? Do you want fries with that? How are you paying today? Blah blah blah whereas with the counter its me saying one sentence and them pushing 2 buttons.

I agree but all those frustrations don't proceed in a logical fashion to opening the door at 30000 feet.
