  • Because in our current system, it is literally a wasted vote. There is a reason Russia promotes the green party - it is because it splits the Democrat vote, making it more likely for a Republican to win.

That doesn't mean the 3rd party people are bad, or the cause isn't just. I actually really like Dr. Cornel West as well, far more than Biden. But the realities are such that I am aware that there is 0 chance he will win, and votes for him are better spent on the lesser of the two evils.

  • Downloading to a flash drive - I don't think this is actually transferring consciousness. Flash drives are just copies.

To survive the process, you would have to initially be plugged into something that is capable of acting as a full extension of your brain. You would then become simultaneously "one" with the device, as well as your current brain. Then somehow, your current brain functions would need to cease working, and you would be fully reliant on the new "brain."

From there, that process in reverse would bring you to a new body.

  • Yeah man. The channels "cordial curiosity" and "Anthony Magnobasco" are the best in my opinion. They often tend to be about religion, but the skills are applicable in basically any kind of topic.

  • Persuasion is difficult. For most people, facts and logic just don't matter. It is a matter of feeling.

If anyone is interested, I'd suggest looking into street epistemology on YouTube. They offer excellent examples of how to use the Socratic method to help people question their own beliefs, but also not feel like you are attacking or judging them for their beliefs.

    I'll link one: https://youtu.be/A-M1EyhcRS8?si=td3mrstOSap60uJX

  • I'm glad someone else sees this problem. Thanks for writing it out.

It is true that there are some pretty impressive apps made in China. Genshin impact is honestly some kind of black magic, how they made it so well optimized for mobile. That tends to be the exception though, not the rule.

  • Kino no tabi! Also one of my favorites.

I agree though. It isn't going to be on the level of popularity as something like chainsaw man. It's more of a quiet, contemplative story with a few exciting action scenes.

  • Everyone complaining about both telegram and signal here should, idk, just start dead dropping handwritten notes to people inside of dead rats, like the true privacy experts.

Privacy is important, yes. But if all of my friends use telegram, I'm going to use it too. Not only that, I'm going to be happy about it, because the telegram app is 1000x better than pretty much any other messaging app.
