You start by asking questions. If you're wrong you'll find out, if you're right you'll expose something.

How do you remember those days and not think things are way better now? CSS can still have weird behavior, but it's nothing compared to doing everything through one off html attributes and trying to position things with float hacks and dealing with browser specific bugs. Despite its problems, as someone who has made websites through every Internet era, things have gotten better and better.

Man I remember the days before flexbox and with browser specific bugs. CSS still screws with me but nothing like in the 2000s.

That's no big deal, just use a linter. It's also pretty obvious what the priority is in the inspector.

I'm curious if people changed their tune once they heard your Canadian accent. Was it their visual racism that led them to assume your country and be racist about nationality, or was it mainly just visual racism with nationality not playing much of a role?

The old code isn't going anywhere, there are already countless backups and clones. For a fork to actually be meaningful it needs community support and maintainers otherwise it's basically just a clone.

Ubuntu really was a big step forward for ease of setup back when it first came out, but other distros have since caught up. I think the ultimate success of an open source project is when they make themselves obsolete because they had such a big impact on the eco system at large. I think Ubuntu achieved their main goal, but once they did that they ended up adding a bunch of bloat to distinguish themselves as the intro user option.

I went from Ubuntu to Xubuntu one Ubuntu started adding all their bloaty window UI. I stuck with it for a long time but recently it started acting up on me so I switched to Linux mint xfce since it's the closest experience and feels a bit more stable. I figure if it ain't broke...

I'm aware, but, if we push for nuclear in the US right now, it will be for profit, and that's why I'm apprehensive. If we can keep it public and ensure proper funding, then I'm for it.

I'm pro nuclear based on the science, but I'm anti nuclear based on humanity. Nuclear absolutely can be run safely, but as soon as there's a for profit motive, corporations will try to maximize profits by cutting corners. As long as there's that conflict I don't blame people for being afraid.

I trust nuclear can be built safely, problem is I don't trust the humans building, maintaining, and running it to not cut corners. I flat out didn't trust nuclear that's run for profit as shareholders will demand cost cutting to maximize profits, and I didn't know if I'd trust publication funded nuclear to stay properly funded.

Assuming it's a real tweet my guess would be that the last reply appeared on their inbox out of context so they thought they were responding to the original tweet. Since Twitter is a shit platform with shit conversation structure I think it's likely assuming it's real.

Not only that, 1 mil invested and making a modest 5% a year will return more than the teaching salary for doing nothing.

If you get a modest 5% return on that mil that's $50k per year, which is more than her teaching salary for doing nothing.

Zero empathy. There are tons of reasons to right click that have nothing to do with copying, plus he's a complete moron to think that there's any way to prevent someone from saving something that's already downloaded on their computer.
