Hotstar disney+ is still $20 a year here in se Asia. Netflix starts at $5/month ($3 for mobile only). Im super curious if these prices ever hit us. I have a feeling they'd just kill the services if they did.
You can't download and run code on iOS, which is pretty much the definition of an extension. You could ship some extensions "with" your browser, but at that point they're just a feature. iOS has adblocking addons at the system level though, doesn't it?
Lol. The privacy bits are what always make me doubt people who say they use iOS for privacy reasons. They'll scream that and then install every google service they can on the same phone.
Apple and Google have both done similar things. Osx will ask you to use safari if you install a different browser. Google shows "it's better in chrome!" on basically all of their properties if you're using non chromium based browsers. No one seems to really give a shit.
I was in dehi recently. Poverty is kinda nuts there, but I noticed everyone had phones, even people who obviously had no home. I assume kinda shitty phones, but it makes you realize a bit how important access is. If someone releases an iOS only app with no web version, they're basically saying fuck you to all those people.
Same same for this though. Googles saying "as long as you use our stuff you'll be fine, and why wouldn't you use our stuff because it's free! (Sometimes kinda sorta). And if you're stuck with something else for some reason, fuck you."
