Why not "Israel killed journalists covering the war in Lebanon as they slept"? Israeli airstrike make it sounds relatively passive as if it was an accident. With over 170 if these "accidents" we know that the IDF is either very, very incompetent or they're not accidents at all
All the IDF reservists must be valid military targets then. And since almost everyone in Israel is required to serve in the IDF, including women, one could argue that there are barely any civilians in Israel nowadays. Imagine all the combatants working in hospitals, schools, universities, and so on. in Israel. Guess one can start bombing those facilities now without fearing they'll ever harm civilians, right?
Like the other 170 journalists they've killed so far for casting light on the war crimes they've been committing. Being labelled a terrorist by Israel must be one of the highest titles one could earn in journalism nowadays.
Yeah, that's fair. Not like that rumor held any kind of water in the first place. It was started by the US government just because they needed to manufacture consent for an invasion so that they can invade their old buddy Saddam Hussein that stopped listening to them. Hell, they event tricked him into invading Kuwait, telling him behind closed doors that they'll have his back at the UN, then didn't keep on their promise hoping that the invasion would be the downfall of Iraq (which is wasn't and that was the reason for them to maliciously start the false rumor that Saddam was trying to build weapons of mass destruction). I recommend listening to Blowback season 1. It's a really well documented podcast by top tier journalists.
Based on that, why would countries do literally anything at this point? A major superpower can make up any kind of rumor (even maliciously just to use as pretext) to achieve its goals. See Russia with the Nazis in Ukraine.
Oh yeah, the singularity of the Holocaust. The same kind of thinking that empowers Germany to aide countries in committing all kinds of atrocities all around the world just because those will never be THE Holocaust, so it's okay.
I honestly don't understand why not every country isn't producing nuclear weapons at this point. Diplomacy has clearly been a complete farce for decades now. Countries like Israel can develop nuclear weapons without any repercussions, because the "civilized west", while seemingly being so obsessed with international law when it comes to countries like Iran and North Korea, surprisingly tends to forget about whatever Israel is doing, and thus is only selectively applying said international law. In extension, international law is a farce, and is only of importance when it suits one of the superpowers sitting in the imperial core.
They're still making those comments up to this day. They're even attending conferences on settling Gaza where expelling Palestinians from their ancestral lands is a commonly discussed and widespread idea, which in turn constitutes ethnic cleansing and in combination with their statements and actions can amount to genocide.
I won't discuss why water is wet. The fact that Israel is committing a genocide has been discussed by various UN officials, ICC officials, and experts on genocide. Go argue with them.
Oh yeah cause the genocidal intent hasn't been shown over and over again through the public statements put out there by sitting members of the Israeli government. We must all suffer from collective amnesia.
It's quite rich to see one of the genocide supporters sitting at the heart of the imperial core complain about aid not getting into Gaza, as their rabid settler colonial project is the main cause for the mass starvation/extinction in Gaza in the first place
Descendant of a jewish holocaust survivor here. I am extremely anti zionist and will never support the colonial project that is Israel. I also have a big book collection on the holocaust, the jewish faith, and antisemitism. Both can be true at the same time.
