  • Pretty interesting to me that they chose to tell the story through a cameraman's eye. Curious to see what's next.

  • And now an independent game massively redesigned compared to the W3 mini game!

  • I'm still quite curious what caused the issue for Instagram on the iPhone 15 to use more resources than the previous phones. They're not that different I think.

  • Can't speak for other people, but I use Twitter and Reddit for different reasons. I use Reddit for communities I have an interest in, so when the move to Lemmy/kbin started, it wasn't that hard for me to migrate over. For Twitter though, I use it to follow specific people and/or company news, so unless they decide to migrate to Mastodon or other platforms, Twitter will still be a site I visit.

  • Use

instead! Better uptime, with the added bonus of not needing to be on the same network.

  • Having read the manga, I think this is one of the best examples of the anime adaptation enhancing the original work. I really enjoy the story pacing so far, the anime doesn't hesitate to slow down on some story bits to let us soak in the world and character's emotions. It's a very comfy pacing. Then on top of that, the beautiful animation and OST just takes this to another level. I can't commend the OST enough, it is SO good.

Another fantasy series I was excited for this season was S-rank daughter. I enjoyed the LN story, but the Frieren anime adaptation just blows it out of the water in terms of animation quality and makes it look like an amateur production.

  • I don't know how this would apply to decompression models in actuality, but in general, deep learning is VRAM intensive only during the training process, that's because they train multiple batches of data at once for generalization, and all those batches of data need to be stored in ram.
But once the model is trained, the end user is only going to input data one by one, so VRAM usually is not an issue. There are also light weight models that are designed to be run on lower end hardware.

  • I'm so sure that unfortunately some people would still point to record low weather when winter comes and say that climate change is a hoax.

  • Can't deny that. It's quite absurd a company big as Sony can't deliver the same software support as others. Though what I meant by customer support are the availability of stores, accessories, customer online/phone/in store support, repairs, 3rd party repairs and such.
Like, if your battery went bad or the screen cracked and need a replacement, it's probably easier to find a replacement for Sony phones than Sharp ones. I think to some extent, that is more important than software updates.

  • I might just do that haha. Though part of me would also want to wait until Hades leaves early access to play it.

  • Sharp is a way less known phone brand here in Taiwan. For the price of the regular, you could get the Xiaomi 13 or a Galaxy S23, and for the price of the pro you could straight up get the Xperia 1 V. All of the phones above would probably also have better customer support than Sharp.

  • Fuck. Future me is going to have a hard time deciding which roguelite to play, this or Hades 2.

  • JFC, I just learned that they are retroactively applying this new rule. This means that games that are out already or have been on sale for multiple years will have to pay the runtime fee too. Insane. They can bankrupt a studio before they even release their next game.

  • Note that it's "per install" (they clarified that reinstalling on the same device only counts as one install), not per unit sold. And Unity will also track pirated copies, so the devs would still have to pay the fee even if they didn't sell it to you.

  • Although in the case of Starlink, one company is already putting enough space junk in LEO to affect astronomy research and photography. I can't imagine if there were more than one competitor.

  • I feel for the employees, but I would still tell people to stay away from "gaming headsets" and just buy regular good headphones and a cheap mic.

  • And then factor in that it needs a team to maintain it, to prevent future compatibility issues or vulnerabilities, which is also expensive.
