If we take the majority of internet users, in that 99% doesn't care about ad blocking. They are not even aware of extensions and stuff. And most people in that category are not going to notice these changes at all as most of them are chrome users.
Some firefox fans will go to any extent to praise firefox by lying about chrome. One thing is that firefox is faster than chrome. My potato pc with 2gb ram and pentium dual core is able to run chrome (without ad blocking) faster than firefox. Page loading etc is faster even with ads in chrome. Same in my work pc with i5 11th gen and 16gb ram. Other chrome browsers like vivaldi and brave are even faster.
But do I care about a few seconds of lag in firefox?. No. I use firefox because of extensions and ad block integration. Not because of its speed. I also use chrome for banking websites etc for a smoother experience. Firefox has some more to do to get a smoother experience. Especially on phones. Pc firefox and chrome are almost similar. Even then chrome is a little bit more faster to be honest.
Other than people who are aware of this issue, that is a very small pool of people no one is ditching chrome.
That's all the reason I moved from lemmy.world to lemme.ee. I decided to keep that account for porn which also got defederated. Going to delete lemmyworld account.
I was on lemmy.world. It has some power tripping admins and also most of the time it is under attack. So I switched to the current one and it is fine and fast and stable most of the time.
There are many entitled people here. Some of them are from linux community. Anything other than that is bad and 1000 posts related to that. Another is sync and other apps. Especially open source only good, closed source everything bad. My feed was full of that. Even though I am a sync user i feel angry when seeing so many non sense posts supporting and against that. Even some communities not related to these are posting this.
I have found windows is easier to install every time. This is just another windows bad linux good post. Windows has so many issues, but installation is not one of them. Even my 10 year old cousin installs it fine.
The only thing I didn't like about connect was for image loading. When I click on an image it is blurry and comes to clarity. Loading is an issue. I don't know if there is any settings for it inside the app. Whereas in sync it loads perfectly fine for me.
Is it possible to turn it off? I feel more censorship here in lemmy than reddit. Lemmy.world had some power tripping mods. Joined lemm.ee. I don't like curse words to be removed. If someone is personally attacking someone then can understand blocking him/her.
I moved to lemme.ee. i find the rules and regulations and reason for defederation in lemmy.world is so insane. and performance was also not good on lemmy.world. many users have made accounts on the server. Lemme.ee is fast and didn't have any downtime till now.
Over thinking and imagining impossible scenarios and losing all my mood all the time. Otherwise I am a logical person.
