  • If you're cherry picking your good book according to modern scientific advancements to the point where your worship is completely heretic from the point of view of a priest from 400 years ago, and would be completely different from the theology of someone like you 400 years from now, it's time to reevaluate why you're even bothering in the first place

Is the rest of it even worth trusting

You can't know and you shouldn't care

Either live by the whole book the way they used to or drop the book and be normal

  • I am not going to purposefully waste human life on tasks that machines could perform or help us be faster at just because late capitalism doesn't let me, the worker, reap the value from them.

    It removes human labor

On a bigger scale we had the loom, the printing press, the steam engine the computer. Imagine if we'd refused them

I can't see us get ensnared into some neu dark age propelled by some "i need to keep my job" status quo just because we found ourselves with a moronic economic system that makes innovations bad news for the workers it replaces

If it takes AI taking away our livelihoods to get a chance to rework this failing doctrine so be it

I'm not talking communism I'm barely hoping for an organic response to it, likely a UBI

  • You're not erasing 13 years you're just living the 2010s a second time instead of living 2070 to 2083

You're losing the chance to witness 13 years of human history but you get your 9 to 5pm back from 2010 to 2070 which is insanely more valuable than whatever events they'll come up with when you're 80

  • I don't understand why it's upvoted. It doesn't even make sense. The reason crypto is bad for donations is the enormous transaction fees. They prefer giving up on your very peculiar situation because you are not worth it. Accepting bitcoin for you brings new fees for hundreds of normal people who do have access to the regular banking system but are enthusiastic about crypto so they will use it if available, thus giving less and overall losing money.

  • That's like saying the loom empowered weavers instead of replacing them, if you make a workforce work 2x faster, you may up the production as much as wages and recruitment difficulties impeded you, but you only need so much of one industry at the end of the day so you will get unemployment.

    But still, the loom's great

  • It will take more jobs than we expect and will still be a bubble

Just because there isn't a need for a $13M AI driven app that gives you ideas on what to eat for dinner doesn't mean there isn't hundreds of world changing applications

Search, writing, illustration, translation, driving, image editing, 3d modelling, 3d animation, physics simulations, coming up with heuristics on np-hard problems quickly like organizing fleets etc, ...

  • It's not you It's reddit profiles, they don't show more than the top N posts in whatever sorting order

You can delete everything in /user/new, then sort by "top" and notice there's still stuff there. There is no way to list it all and delete it all. And if you delete the whole account to at least anonymize the comments, they might bring stuff back (that you deleted) and there'll be no way to remove them anymore.
