It's a pretty standard flag in basically all compiled languages, just goes by a different name. -werror in C, -Werror in Java, TreatWarningsAsErrors in C#, etc.

...you don't accept them. Basically every programming language accepts some kind of -werror flag to turn warnings into errors. Warnings for development builds, errors for production builds. This has been a solved problem for a very long time. Not only is it assinine to force them to be errors always, it's semantically incorrect. Errors should be things that prevent the code from functioning in some capacity.

That's what warnings are for and -werror for production builds in literally any other language. This has been a solved problem for a very long time.

Or, you know, treat it as a warning like literally every other language. There's absolutely no good reason for it to prevent a build outright, but then again, there's not really good reasons for many of the decisions behind go.

It's less of an issue of reviewing all packages than it is that this causes DOS in the first place. It's pretty damn stupid that you can't unpublish packages others depend on, and the whole recursive dependencies thing makes the situation a lot worse than it otherwise would be. Neither of these are issues with other package registries.

HIPPA is no joke and companies actually don't fuck around with it. It's not worth it. It's one of the few pieces of consumer protection out there that has real teeth. Under HIPPA, you are expressly forbidden from using personal health information for anything unrelated to that patient's care, and companies can and are fined heavily for violating it.

You're the maintainer and presumably you control the discord server. You can decide to move things to a more available platform by removing Discord as an option.

I don't use teams, but hard disagree. My team screenshares all the time for pair programming, and even for regular meetings, screen sharing a slide deck or basic agenda is helpful for focusing conversation. I have presented before without sharing a screen and things go off the rails really quick. Focusing attention on the topics being discussed helps keep things as brief and efficient as possible. Presenting an agenda and topics also shows professionalism and that you are trying to respect people's time by keeping things focused.

There's a difference between having a preference/orientation and outright saying "no trans people" on your profile, imo. The former is totally fine and I think the vast majority of people think the same. If you did the latter, I would definitely remove that. It's unnecessary and can make people feel shitty. Just swipe left on people you aren't attracted to, and if you find a dealbreaker while talking to someone, politely disengage.

In general, I find it's best to avoid putting any kind of negative thing in your bio. Both because you run the risk of making people feel bad for no reason, and because psychologically, you want people to associate you with positive things about you, not the things you dislike. Most people have a lot of dealbreakers that are far too numerous and exhausting to enumerate anyway. Just asses for yourself, and if you don't like something about someone, move on.
