  • You forgot to strawmanify the second to last sentence - it should be "we each voted for a good candidate".

  • Or put another way... We've already got more than enough for everyone even with today's technology. Modern scarcity is artificial, not physical.

  • One of the criticisms against the Democratic Party is that they aren't particularly democratic. Party insiders and the wealthy hold far more power and practically pick the nominees.

Rather than compare them to the planet from which we were birthed, I would compare them to a shitty boyfriend we're afraid to dump.

  • Polarizing like a magnet. We'd have a force for good instead of a lesser evil. That's a lot better at getting people to the polls.

  • If they don't understand tax incidence, then they'll believe it can be legislated.

    • They claim this
    • That's bullshit
    • Well ackchually they just said they claim it
  • They would wholeheartedly agree with you because they can buy their way out of discrimination and we can't.

  • Wait how do they differ? Aren't radio waves the gayest waves in the electromagnetic spectrum?

  • Motte and bailey.

    • "The Kingdom of Foo has no inequality!"
    • "Actually it has quite a bit..."
    • "Well it's still moving in the right direction, and that's what really matters."

  • Nice try, physicists.

  • Engineer here, I always just use pi and a "safety factor" multiplier. Extra material is expensive, and I want the cheapest part (like a screw) to fail first. We don't just oversimplify pi because half the time it'll make your design weaker.

(If I just got whooshed I apologize)

  • I want to believe you're right. But everything else so far has just been a gradually applied multiplier on human labor, not a full replacement. Instead of a sudden tipping point, we'd watch each other become destitute one by one, perpetually looking out for only ourselves.

  • Hmm that's interesting, I'm really not sure. What do you think?
