  • It's...perfect. So beautiful.

  • I'll take the good with the bad. Better than literal criminals and conmen. Some good shit was done. C'est la vie.

  • In the country's defense, those assholes literally ran the government from the highest level for 4 years and gave up power were forced to give up power after their term ended. We have a pretty robust system. I am concerned that so many people are so stupid to be hoodwinked by him and his ilk, but the system was built to withstand this type of shit...at least for a single time.

Meanwhile Biden and democrats have been out there with things like the Inflation Reduction Act and the Infrastructure Bill actually helping Americans. If you think that the government isn't capable of doing positive or good for it's people anymore, you haven't been paying attention. It may not be sweeping, and only barely enacted, but a lot of good has been done recently.

  • Corporations are people my friend

  • I've done this to a degree as well. I used this LASIM tool someone wrote to auto-move all my user settings and subscribed communities. Pretty neat!

  • Classic. I dusted this off recently at work when I realized we had a significant overly project managed thing going on. F off PMs, I'm doing my work!

  • Has there been any posts on this outside of discord? Anything we can do? It's been noticable and I have an alt I can use when lemmy.world is down, but I didn't even realize this was happening.

  • Yeah, I tried one after many years...I had fond memories of the old PS2 versions.

PC port of Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends and janky everything was a barrier just too high to overcome.

  • Yeah, sarcasm isn't meant to trick people. They are supposed to understand that it's sarcasm. That's what I meant when it comes across better in person. People get that it's sarcasm because of that body language.

    edit Wait a tick, you're "sarcasm"ing me, aren't you!?

  • Sigh... You're free to go sir. Have a nice evening Mr sovereign user.

  • We have an "upstairs basket" and "downstairs basket" that we put stuff in for the next time one of us goes up our down. They work great.

  • Point taken. I suppose I mean sarcasm not satire. /s is really a sarcasm indicator, not just satire.

There are, however, other instances of satire that aren't text based such as much movies (eg dr strangelove, Galaxy quest) or spoof movies as well as most political cartoons. But those sometimes are misunderstood as serious as well.

Sarcasm comes across much better in person than via text, which I'm sure you agree with.

  • Satire is dead hard on a text only based medium.

  • I have said "belay that order" to my google assistant so many times and they still haven't figured it out.

  • Open, so that the air that gets pumped into my room can tell the Mr. Thermostat in the hall that it's actually fine in there and they don't need to call Mr. Furnace or Mrs. A/C.

  • Not while browsing on "All", but this is easily remedied by maintaining a subscription list and browsing on "Subscribed". Typically, porn is limited to specific communities which can just be not added to your subscription list.

  • Yeah, I think I must have said something to upset someone. I have had a few innocuous posts and comments down voted in the last day. Weird.

Or people take offense to me asking that question... (shrug)

  • Would you recommend game or show first for a new consumer of it?

  • Yeah, this seems really smart to me, as long as you can avoid the obvious problems with it being submerged in fucking corrosive as shit saltwater. Makes way more sense than using A/C since the ocean is a giant heatsink.

I am guessing OP is worried about either these things being a driver of why the oceans are heating up (not the blanket of CO2 around Earth in the atmosphere from decades of fossil fuel powered binging) or the ocean being too hot to effectively cool these things, which also doesn't seem plausible outside of very specific locations/depths.

I think this would be better than doing it on land, however I also think that it'll be costly and need to be over-engineered to survive the environment and not worth it in the end (as MS has apparently come to the same determination).
