  • Could be worse. I'd take a Java 7 over Objective-C any day of the day.

Also what exactly is stopping developers from using Kotlin? It compiles to the same bytecode. Is there a framework that can't be imported? I thought IntelliJ handed all of that, not Google.

  • MediaTek, Samsung, Nvidia and now Google make ARM chips. Android has tried x86. And has recently added support for RISC-V.

Diversity is not the problem. Honestly there is no problem. Apple just makes damn good chips. 🤷

  • That isn't the same feature. What you show replaces the person's face with the same person's face from a different photo in a burst/similar shot. That feature is called "Best Take".

The article is saying magic eraser won't draw a new face from nothing.

  • Aren't there a bunch of improvements for foldable devices?

Also, there are a lot of security and privacy changes forced on developers when targeting API 34 that will help protect end users without them knowing.

  • Marketing.

The Galaxy brand was firmly established and well known before the Pixel brand even existed. People say it's performance or hardware issues but 99% of consumers don't know (or care) about that at all. Google really only started spending on marketing for Pixel a couple years ago and the sales numbers reflect that.
