“The Republican Party, as many of us know it, no longer exists,” said one source, who asked not to be named. “We do not recognize ourselves anymore in Trump’s administration. There is a strong movement out there in the party to reclaim the values we were raised on and reclaim the middle ground.”
Translation: "Omg can you believe this leopard is eating my face? Now that I'm personally affected by my own stupidity I want to be friends with Democrats!"
Competing interests. It's not about support it's about what do they get in return for their support and most of them the most important thing is promises for their next reelection. Then mony.
One explanation is that they don’t understand just how unpopular the bill is apt to be when it takes effect. Many Republicans rely on party-aligned media for their news, and these sources have mostly cheered the bill while ignoring its downsides. Both chambers of Congress have rushed the bill through with minimal scrutiny, shielding members from exposure to concerns. Even the White House seems unaware of what exactly it’s pressuring Congress to do. Yesterday, when a reporter asked Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt about the megabill’s proposed tax on wind and solar energy, she appeared totally unfamiliar with the measure and punted the question. (The tax provision was later removed.)

Yep. We had a solid 4 years for USA to figure some shit. Global pandemic to nail it home too. We didn't.
Republicans have been at this for decades. First round of Trump should have been enough. It wasn't. Now Republicans have full control.
You can only warn people for so many years. We are past that point. Everyone that refused to listen are now going to get what their wilful ignorance wanted.
They have a rep for being a good company and over the years that has helped them a lot I think.
