  • Wages have been going down in relation to buying power. Costs of goods has gone up, wages haven't gone up.

  • No no you don't understand, being paycheck to paycheck under Obama and Biden was good, being paycheck to paycheck under Trump is bad. The poors aren't important unless the media can find a way to market it as somehow being Anti-Trump when they donate to him in appeasement to his ego.

Stocks were up for both until COVID and the Tarrifs, so that's what matters most.

EDIT: If downvotes were dollar bills, maybe I could afford more things under either president!

  • I'd agree, but RiseUp is one of few good things online that's free and not sucking your data off the bone. They're a group of anarchists who provide free online services (mainly email, newsletters, a vpn) for free for activists.

And the FBI has raided them once and found nothing.

  • Yeah RiseUp is the only free one I actively trust.

  • Oh I know, decades of propaganda and teaching people that ignorance is strength has worked wonders for the fascists.

  • Democrat in office: "Who cares you can't buy food and pay rent? Many people live paycheck to paycheck! The stocks are up, who cares what the plebs have?"

Republicans in office: "I don't give two shits about you, the stock must go up."

Almost like they have the same goals of "line must go up". It is baffling how people can ignore various national issues because of the economic system the government props up when their favorite group is in office.

  • Rhoeri will say "lmao" and end any and all criticisms with citations!

  • Comic sans was invented for legibility on CRT screens, and its considered good for younger people to learn the iconography of various Latin characters.

Its just misused since it was standard in Windows and Apple's OS X, and used in situations that aren't meant for such a typeface. It's perfectly good for what it was invented for, its just often incorrectly used by designers who don't really know how to design well.

  • Gonna spend the rest of my life knowing I’m surrounded by fucking morons. And I’m not some genius. I had a typical public education. I guess the difference is I actually paid attention.

Yep, I'm smart enough to know I'm not that smart. But I can at least look around me and go "This isn't normal, right?"

It's a weird fucking curse to have. Smarter than the average American due to the decades of under-funding the education system. I know how to use a computer more than boomers and younger people stuck using machines locked down by corporations.

Ask me to do a math question higher than high school level? I'm going to flounder. You ask me who was president in 1890 without looking it up, I probably know it. And I know that's not exactly a flex, it's probably overall better to know more advanced math than trivia, but it's just how my brain works.

And yet I'm still smarter than Trump and his cultists.

  • Juvenoia. IPA(key): /ˈd͡ʒuːvənɔɪə/

    Noun, juvenoia (uncountable)

(neologism) The fear or hostility directed by an older generation toward a younger one, or toward youth culture in general.

  • Just pure coincidence that they drafted this up on the same day. Almost like they know people aren't interested in a politician who doesn't represent them.

Wanna take bets that the challenger loses and the impeachment goes nowhere, so nothing happens to this seat?

  • They do not. Harris was perfect in every way, anything otherwise is a lie.

  • "I couldn't care less, but let me keep doing this for brownie points for people who don't know I exist."

  • Leela: You'll never pardon anybody because you'll never get elected president. The voters of Earth aren't the pea-brained idiots they were back in your time.

Nixon: Oh, no? Well, listen here, missy. Computers may be twice as fast as they were in 1973 but your average voter is as drunk and stupid as ever. The only one who's changed is me. I've become bitter and, let's face it, crazy over the years. And once I'm swept into office, I'll sell our children's organs to zoos for meat and I'll go into people's houses at night and wreck up the place.

  • Only recently has everyone above the 18 had the ability to vote, excluding those who are slaves as per the 13th amendment. For most of American history, women couldn't vote. Black people weren't considered people. We kicked out anyone Chinese. We locked away Japanese Americans because they were ethnically Japanese.

America was maybe a democracy for 56 years, since the Voting Rights Act of 1968. That's a stretch at best, as the country never healed for being an Apartheid for 200 years.

  • Aside from this being a little fucking melodramatic and defeatist, the thing that really bothers me is the implicit assumption that if only we’d all just vote blue no matter who we wouldn’t have this problem, like the Democratic Party hasn’t been kowtowing to and enabling those same oligarchs to undermine our democracy. I

Reminder that Clinton pushed for Trump to be the nominee as she thought she would win easier with him. Trump is a non-zero amount of Clinton's fault.

Don’t get me wrong, boom tomorrow is definitely better than boom today, but it’s important to not forget that there was never not going to be a boom.

Playing hot potato with a bomb, passing it along between various administrations and congressional members, and none of them were going to get hurt. It was always going to explode with the victims being the 99%.

  • Even if they had the time frame that Republicans had with drafting and promoting Project 2025, they could have had their own. They knew it existed, only Trump pretended it never existed and was a hoax.

If the DNC had its own Project 2025, something like "Project End Fascism" it could have worked. Instead we got "Maybe 100K for new home owners. Not gonna go after the corporations buying every home."
