Yeah, they hired them and claimed their impartiality. I find it hard to trust the impartiality of a company being paid by one of the parties involved.

Whose batteries do you buy?

I remember the day I realized that Africa and South America fit together when looking at a paper atlas. It felt like I had just discovered something incredible. I guess I had, but I wasn't the first. :-)

I've heard that's true for restaurants and stuff like that, such seemed pretty baffling to me considering Google Maps (and others) exists.

Call me paranoid, but Google owns Android. They can easily read the content of a notification as it's displayed. They even have a Notification History app where you can see all applications from all apps.

Employees usually can't just sell their stock whenever they want, especially at the C level. They have scheduled sales because they always have material knowledge about the company that would lead to insider trading.

Regular employees will have long vesting schedules (often backdated to their start date if they worked there while it was private), and often can't sell in certain blackout periods.

I don't want my kid to murder someone, so ban all violence on TV and in movies and videogames for everyone in the entire country so I don't have to parent.

You're worried about the amount of liquid present in a battery that fits on a motherboard? Or are you talking about laptop batteries?

I've seen my sister going through this process for years. It's emotionally challenging, financially challenging, and risky to her health. She's had two ectopic pregnancies and had to be operated on twice. If she manages to have one baby she'll be happy, and there's no way it would make sense to implant all the other embryos given the health risk to her. So what would Alabama have her do?

I'm glad she doesn't live there.

Ah awesome, it's a shame that you still need the phone number though. I wanted my son to use Signal on my old phone to keep in touch when I'm out and he's at home, but I'm not signing up for a phone plan for him at his age.
