  • Pro-life itself is anti-freedom. I think pro-lifers should be denied representation in government. If you have a problem with that then you're just hypocritical. Its the same as not allowing women to have determination over their own bodies.

  • I actually think you shouldn't be allowed to vote; Just like you think women can't make determinations about their own bodies and somehow you have more care and wisdom than licensed doctors.

If you have a problem with that you're a hypocrite.

  • My problem with pro-lifers is you're all just content to pretend to be the mouth-piece for babies because somehow you think you know better than the person who is carrying said baby.

Conservatives' advocacy for preserving life rings hollow when it's clear they will actively oppose policies beyond birth, like free lunch programs for kids in schools, debt forgiveness for students, and proper sex education with use of contraceptives.

It's clear the real goal is to birth future laborers and christian missionaries. Your entire position on pro-life is actually a desperate attempt to preserve a dying religion. You're devoid of the kindness and love taught by your own God.

I have no respect for people who pretend to care about preserving life.

First respect women, then you can respect their fetus: https://midwest.social/post/8438167

  • What's sad is her anti-trans position bewildering considering the morals in her books. Hermoine is called a mudblood and outcast and she works hard to be accepted as a witch in the magical society. The trio befriend Hagrid. I don't see anybody else visiting him for a cup of tea as frequently as these 3. Dobby the house elf is surprised and shocked to find that Harry frees him just to be a friend. Neville is mocked for all of 7 books and we learn that his circumstances aren't that far off from that of Harry's.

The whole fricking book is about showing kindness and accepting people as they are. Given all of this, I don't quite get why JK Rowling is filled with hatred.

  • It's still ridiculuous how car industry friendly zoning laws implemented in the U.S.A are hurting the citizens but people genuinely argue that it's good being stuck in their cars alone for 2 to 3 hours a day.

  • I have a theory about this. About why our childhood was amazing. It's because we never had something back then to look back on and feel sad about. We lived in the moment. We had our entire life ahead of us.

It seems like it is inevitable that we develop nostalgia and feel bad about missed adventures because we often look in the rear view mirror when we are grown up. But this raises interesting questions: are our brains; reaching the end of their growth spurt, start reusing existing structures and thus we can only live by comparison to our childhood? Is it possible that if we figure out how to allow the brain to continue creating new neurons we can feel as excited as children all our lives ?

  • Oh with added context your decisions make sense. I feel like you shouldn't be angry that some online stranger has no idea.

I didn't consider that your situation involved dealing with someone suicidal. I hope it's not hyperbole on your part.

My own position was the kid would lose out on valuable years of social development and engaging with other kids of her own age. I thought it was bullying but something that the kid was kind of dealing with in their own way but able to manage.

Since you have said that your kid has got back her courage to flip the bird on her bullies and also gotten a lot of friend, Congratulations on the win! Don't let me or anybody tell you otherwise.

Forgive me for saying "you jumped the gun" as it was judgemental. I only said it because i did not have the info you just posted.

"homeschooling" triggered concern from my end because of some horror stories i hear about kids who are at college graduation age but stunted because of a common denominator that they were homeschooled.

  • We can't really tell for sure because:

    1. They left out subscriber numbers in the recent earnings call (according to this article)
    2. Hence, we don't know if the subscribers were from bundles vs. individual subscriptions.
    3. Subscribers could be from low price regions and the revenue there wouldn't compare to NA and EU.
  • This "Article" is short on details, And according to this article Google did not reveal data about subscriptions in the recent earnings call. I can only think this a PR piece to fluff up Google's shares and discourage critics. Unless Google can be confident enough to explain which regions added subscribers and how much of such a subscription was part of a bundle... We can't conclude that their anti-adblocking measures and price hikes were successful.

Example: India would fluff up numbers without adding as much revenue (bundles are common and subscription prices are low) than NA or EU
