It's truly a great thing if Death is unable to change your priorities. You got your shit figured out and must pat yourself on your back.

A lot of people definitely would take it. This might be the time to confess their love to a lifelong crush, punch their bully in the face, save up and complete their bucket lists, etc.

Death focuses us on what's actually important and meaningful for each of us.

Maybe the point is such a system that only works on numbers is inhumane and should be avoided? Economics people want to argue within economic frameworks which don't work well if some assumed market conditions don't exist. I have never seen reality work quite as described when free market breaks down and MNCs control government policymaking

Econ 101 is just a beginners class. It doesn't make sense to claim that Econ 101 is comprehensive or rigorous.

My problem with economics is that it takes economic theory and tries to prescribe it to reality.. rather than explain the reality of it. It is also quite vague about what happens when institutions that deliberately meddle with fundamental assumptions like that of a free market.. like Multimillion dollar MNCs that manipulate governments and essentially are policy makers who shape the market itself.

Does economic theory hold good when the free market ceases to exist as described by it?

Does the Econ101 class also teach you to assume that humans are rational consumers?

Somehow you expect Biden to reverse or ameliorate all these economic situations... or you somehow didn't expect Trump to do all these yet you expect Biden to. Trump said he would accelerate the slaughter.. you still had bills to pay when he was president (you expect the president to help you with your bills?), rent and homelessness is supposed to be fixed with cooperation from state, center, and landlords. The last of them are still greedy as ever regardless of presidents so I don't generally expect that the president can do much. Even in this regard Biden is at least trying to fight the republican controlled congress and SC to pass student debt forgiveness.

When Biden tries you all cry that he isn't doing anything while the republicans block any attempts in each step of the way.

When Trump does anything you all cheer his shitty behavior that hurt you more as a common man than as a conservative.

Your smartphone is itself a security hole. It has 10+ sensors on it nowadays and who knows how many apps lying about their privacy promises.

There's no such thing as perfect security.. unless your application is trivial and doesn't do very much. Android is designed to collect data from the dozen plus sensors on your phone in order to get money from app vendors to push ads.

Android as a system has too many moving parts. You not only have to worry about various device manufacturers compiling their own versions of AOSP, you have to worry about how manufacturers package unremovable apps like facebook, candy crush, etc.

The backdoor is actually the front door.. and it is app vendors who are actually the customers... not the phone owners.

The main reason smartphones took off is that business people were salivating at an always on, always listening device with 10+ sensors collecting data on this whole world. And we pay for the privilege.

Android has to be designed to collect data and show you ads. Is it really surprising that security here is just security against free access to this data from outsiders.. and not caring about your security?
