  • You don't think there's anything on your end that can be improved? You don't think you can do better?

  • Why can you never make your point without being combative and off-putting? I've seen you do this many times. I communicate with very helpful and enthusiastic people who have blocked you or warn others from engaging with you because of your abrasive comments.

  • Did you write this? Have you done any formal studies in psychology?

  • And you don’t have to play pay to win with the algorithm to get your stuff to actually show up on feeds of the people already fucking following you.

Unfortunately, many people and organizations want to be able to pay for visibility. Which is antithetical to most fediverse services.

  • To the best of my knowledge, PDM can use Conda as a backend. So go ahead and use them both if you want.

  • This is my main concern. The admins and mods are not ready for floodgates to open like this. And people using and enjoying Lemmy despite its imperfections will be soured quickly by the experience.

  • You can use the corporate approach and tell them that you are recording the conversation and show them that pressed record on your device. Let them choose if they want to continue the conversation without verbally expressing that option to them. If they make it a point to ask you to stop the recording, you can choose to stop and simply take notes.

  • First. Breathe. Do some mindful meditation if you'd like.

    Second. Do NOT quit!

Third. Know that you can call in sick on Monday if you need to.

Fourth. Find a lawyer that specializes in employment law and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) issues. You can do this by contacting a lawyer that is busy and specializes in something else (like real estate, or whatever) and asking if they know someone that can help. Most lawyers won't charge for an initial consultation, so use that first call/meeting to it's fullest.

Fifth. Go into the office and find out what their response to the email(s) is. There's no point in guessing and avoiding finding out. Record conversations (find out about consent for recording in your state). Write notes.

  • It's lengthy for sure. It could absolutely use some distillation. But it had me thinking about a lot.

There's a repetitive theme of limited perspectives not giving a good base of knowledge for future prediction or evaluation.

  • Is this the type of response that convinced OP to leave reddit?

  • The absolute best app for learning a new language is from pimsleur.com but their privacy policy is trash.

Second best is italki and their privacy policy is trash.

YouTube can also be helpful but you need to use alternative ways to access it if you want privacy.

If you really want to learn and preserve privacy, you'll probably need to interact with native speakers daily in person.

  • They are generally counting installations of the app. So it does take conscious effort to be one of the counted. But it's certainly less friction than most new services.
