Probably an unintentional mistake rather than a concious design decision. I think they used a transparent background instead of white, so it accidentally looks evil in night mode. To test, switch your phone out of night mode and see if it schanges the face to white along with the background.

I’m no fan of the current court, but to say it’s in Trump’s pocket is ludicrous. If they were, they would not have rejected his election challenge appeals related to the 2020 election.

I am unfamiliar with Matrix and just read their website, but I’m still kind of confused as to the importance of a new release sub-version to this general technology community. This may be a stupid question, but does matrix provide infrastructure for the fediverse or something?

I don’t think so. The Death Star was a military vessel, and spouses/children don’t usually don’t get to come along on those sorts of things.
