Does the same on windows. Either they're constantly changing some really deep stuff that we don't see or notice, or it's not actually updating just "checking" for updates or loading but it's just slow AF.
Basically. The start menu on windows 11 is really poorly implemented so that whenever you open it your CPU has to kick into overdrive for a split second.

Isn't this basically how Fedora and RHEL are? RHEL is paid for giving you support, updates, etc. While Fedora is FOSS. You just install it and they don't care what you do with it.
