  • This purity testing is why I don’t call myself a Democrat, liberal, or leftist.

Because you don't align with those beliefs. You are not a Democrat, liberal or leftist. And what? You expect those of us who are to call you that out of some misguided sense of charity? I'd suggest having the courage to own your own beliefs.

  • In what way is it naive to say that Chinese espionage is real?

It's not. But your faith in the system and due process is.

Only people found guilty of espionage should be deported, period.

    1. This already happens;
    2. In Trumpistan, how do they get to that stage of being "found guilty"?
    3. What ancillary effects happen as a result of a broad, federal-level push to "root out" Chinese people "suspected" of espionage?
  • Ok, so now if you are Asian in addition to being even vaguely brown, you will at all times need to carry papers showing you are authorized to be here. You will be subject to being stopped and questioned and should you fail to produce your papers you may be detained, possibly for quite some time, until YOU can prove you are authorized to be here. Even if you are here legally your status may be revoked and you will be ejected from the country, probably at your own expense. No doubt in that case anything you own here in the US will be confiscated.

  • You know what amazes me? That any vaguely brown person who voted for Trump didn't seem to think that even if they are literally carrying their papers at all times and easily able to prove their citizenship, they are gonna be harassed constantly for the next four years. With hopeful some state exceptions, they are going to have to be very careful to speak only 'Murican in public and suppress public display of non-American cultures. They are literally going to be having to watch their backs every day.

    WTF.

  • It's not surprising to me that people are misinterpreting your comment, which is factual. If you are doing piece work on a large industrial farm and your nearest toilet is a 10 minute walk one way, you are very unlikely to take the time. This is only one vector but it's an important one.

On most smaller farms a great deal more care is exercised. On my farm we have a very strict hand-washing rule and have only ever paid by the hour. We also don't have any processing equipment so the produce goes from the field to a carefully cleaned bin and straight to the farmer's market or consumer directly. No conveyor belts, warehouse storage or re-packaging involved.

  • "organic foods are fertilized with literal shit."

Your post is utter nonsense for a variety of reasons, but mainly it's your ignorance of how manure is used. Review the National Organic Program (USA) standards in §205.203(c)(1) for a primer on that. Europe's regulations are even stricter.

    Reference: https://eorganic.org/node/3132

  • "Well, they were organic alright. All natural shit fertilizer."

Doesn't work that way. Even if the fields were fertilized with manure, they are done so long before planting - it's literally in the National Organic Program regulations that certified organic farms are required to follow. It's also just common practice anyway. Because duh, root vegetables.

The main and pretty much only source of contamination is in the harvesting, processing, and handling. Not just people but equipment like conveyor belts. For example, "baby carrots" are almost never grown small but big carrots cut up by machines, which -no surprise- are easily contaminated.

  • But you don't actually know how many people this would have applied to... you just assume, right?

Edit: It's right in the article: "The rule would have extended to approximately four million American workers, guaranteeing them overtime pay."

  • So what are you saying? That objectivity doesn’t exist?

I think the fact that this is so unclear to you is both disappointing and disturbing. And you are going so so so far afield in an apparent effort to hear yourself talk more that I'm just not that keen on engaging.

    Have a nice day.

  • After this bill, Trump will declare antifa, BLM, and pro-palestine movements as terrorist organizations

Possibly. But per the bill they have to at least make a show of "proving" that the organizations aided designated foreign or domestic terrorist organizations, which is defined by the Secretary of State. Yes, of course they can just define an organization as such but it's not completely evidence-free. I'm a little unclear on the process of domestic vs foreign designations - Executive Order 13224 signed by bush gives both to the Secretary of State. Still that way?

"Then all leftist legal support is dead"

Because people can't get a tax deduction? I'd hope we're slightly better than that.

  • "public officials who engage in treason"

Did Trump engage in treason? Article III of our constitution says:

"Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open Court."

Trump, sadly, was never on trial for treason much less convicted of it. So like it or not (very much not!) Trump was never tried for crimes that would disqualify him from being elected president. Biden upheld the rule of law and adhered to our constitution.

I don't like it but that's the way it is.
