  • Cool, call up the army to start enforcing shit or piss the fuck off

  • Title had me in the first half not gonna lie

  • You can't hardly even buy computer monitors without them anymore either. Every one of the higher end Samsung or LG monitors is starting to include "smart" bullshit.

  • And guess who canada used to sell oil to? The US... Who typically has a thirst for Canada's nice heavy crude oils to help balance out the light, sweet crude made by most American oil fields.
Sourcing heavy crude from other suppliers who have to bring it in via tanker, because Chinese buyers can outbid the tarriffed American buyers... Tankers are significantly more expensive than local pipelines, is going to drive the cost of middle distillates up a bunch on top of the tarriffs.

  • Oh I've already gotten at least two spam calls that claimed to be from ICE. I didn't even hear them out long enough to see what they wanted.
Probably means something that I'm in an area with a very large farm working Hispanic population.

  • Oh no he is going to be banned from reddit for mentioning a luogi 😱

  • Turnip too busy negotiating with terrorists to worry about human rights

  • The point is dehumanization. That's why all they ever talk about are "Illegal aliens" rather than undocumented immigrants. It reduces them from people to unwanted objects that can be marginalized in the population's public mind. Which, incidentally, is exactly what Nazi Germany did.......

  • Won't matter, they'll just have the FCC revoke the broadcast licenses after a while.

  • Might be 6'3 if he was stretched out on one of those Medieval torture racks.

  • They say "checks" but it is realistically going to mean any transaction over $200

  • You can just check the modlog of your local instance and search for your own username. Most of the time the ban action will federate (but again, sometimes not, never really sure why). If nothing shows up locally check the modlog of the remote instance you're trying to post to.

  • The other chance that you got no comments on your post for is that you are banned from the remote instance/community, or federation is broken (still happens intermittently).

Lemmy will still allow you to post from your home instance since you are not banned there, but your content will simply get black-holed by the remote instance if you're banned there. Sometimes you have to check the remote instance directly to see if your post was federated or not.

  • We'll see if that 1t defense budget even lasts a year. With how the bond market is reacting to trumps instability, the US' ability to borrow itself into a hole may be very quickly coming to an end.

  • I don't have consumer confidence because I don't know if the industry my company works in is even going to exist in a year.

  • Weirdly convenient that these people only ever get caught the second they become mentally unfit for trial.

  • republicunts plans to finance rich people tax cuts with additional debt in shambles
