  • The rivalry between India and China is mostly economic. Nepal has neither a large economy nor much natural resources, so no.

However, this will worry a lot of people here in India. Nepal alone might not mean much, but China has been getting closer to Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Bangladesh, Bhutan and of course Pakistan. To be fair, this is partly our fault - we took these countries' support for granted and failed to treat them with due respect.

  • The problem is that India has many local languages. So you need one language, equally foreign to everyone (so no one has an unfair advantage) for things like federal laws, national-level competitive exams and inter-state communication (each state is, in theory, composed of the people speaking one language). English conveniently fits that bill.

We almost had civil war in the 1960s over this. The compromise was that (1) India has no national language, (2) all federal documents would be in both English and Hindi (the biggest Indian language) and (3) all schools must teach any three languages, including English.

  • This is horrible. They are building a line connecting some small towns and plan to use it as a proof of concept? That could work as an engineering proof of concept, but without a guaranteed budget people are going to see it as a commercial failure and write it off.

  • Which ending? The OG show, the movie, or the rebuilds?

OG show had humanity almost lose multiple times because someone at NERV was being a dick. The ending was about Shinji figuring out how to connect to people, not about the war.

Movie had SEELE backstab humanity, and humans only survive because Shinji's mother (the only sane character in the show, also coincidentally a civilian) saw the writing on the wall and came up with an absolutely insane plan that worked, at the cost of her life and Shinji's sanity.

Rebuild is weird even by Evangelion standards, and I think at this point Anno is trolling the 'fans' who want a conventional happy ending with Shinji and Asuka getting married or what not.

  • The first time you do something, you also need to learn how to do it, set up production lines, make mistakes, learn from them, and build up expertise. The US is only starting to build high-speed rail, while China has the biggest high-speed rail network in the world. I would call it a step in the right track (hehe), although one that should have been taken years ago.
