  • My parents used to have this problem with dogs (our neighbors loved to let them shit everywhere but their own yard) and had a great amount of success with lining the perimeter of the property with moth balls.

  • It's really hard to block WAN access from only a couple devices without putting them on their own physical network that nobody, not even authorized personnel, can access. A determined enough attacker can and will find a way to make a connection through all the hops and firewalls you add, and if there's even a single circuitous route from the cameras to the internet, they have a chance of finding it.

    That's also ignoring the potential for there to be a wireless transmitter like Lora built in.

  • I'm not super concerned with performance or features other than maybe a decent camera. I prefer to do anything more difficult than sending messages on my laptop. The A54 has the same sized battery as the S23 Ultra, but it uses a much more power efficient chip that isn't all that much slower, so it seems like a worthy tradeoff to me.
