  • Let me spin that for you so you see the problem.

Mastodon, the social network backed by terrorists. By signing up, you put your name on a FBI watchlist as well.

edit: I didn't make it clear that this would be the spin that would be possible to use against mastodon. It's not true, but it doesn't have to be to cause harm.

  • As I said, we can’t discuss it from a theoretical point of view. The way I would go about it is:

    • Trans athletes in their specific fields are outperforming all cis athletes
    • The roster is filled with trans athletes basically

Those conditions would indicate that trans athletes are in practice having their own competition that excludes cis athletes. And this would be the starting point for discussions, not a reason for segregation. Top athletes are more likely to have a constitution that is out of the curve, but that is not enough to guarantee top spots. They have to work for it as well and most cis athletes advantages are just celebrated, instead of the criminalization we see when trans athletes excel.

  • I invite you to explore your own consideration. You say there's separation for a reason, but what's the reason? Is it practical or ideological? For instance, clothing regulations and criticisms are heavily ideological and adhere to traditions more than they do to the needs of the practice or individual choice. So, is the separation issues being brought a result of experience and reality? Do we really need a new category to put individuals in because a few from a very small group excel? Michal Phelps is an outlier, but the sport didn't change because of his advantages, because it doesn't make sense to.

What I'm trying to say here is that there's no real problem being discussed when we talk about trans people in sports, just a hypothetical one.

  • Lots of people complain when the game is called a walking simulator, but I got very excited seeing all the different environments we'll be able to traverse. Hoping to have a little bit of Lockne / Mama somehow. The mechas were something curious, then they doubled down at the end.

  • Some things to consider. Even official diagnosis might change or be wrong, or specialists might disagree. You are the one that really knows the facts of your life. A diagnosis is a good starting point to help yoiu find the right tools to deal with what you struggle, but you can test the tools without it to see if they make your life better. Truth is, everyone would benefit from even minor accommodations.

  • One of the problems might be that any inbetween has continuously been erased. Success is having all the money and all the fans, investors only want big returns and don't really care about art. It's more lucrative to sell an artist that people will follow for a long time than to sell their work that is then in their control, separated from the creator.

  • I think the reason for my rant got lost in the rant, but all your examples will help. Nobody cares about any of the issues you mentioned the same way. They are, for the most part, small things that one wouldn't consider nice, but that don't deserve that much attention. I expect to hear that it's too bad that people do those things. I would never expect people to overanalyze the situation and seriously judge others by that.

Let me change the perspective a little. If a good friend does any of the things listed above, it might bother me. If a stranger does it, I won't judge them personally, because it's not enough, I can only judge the situation.

  • Thanks for the suggestion. I wanted to bring this to attention to the people outside that won't look up even the superficial stuff, which is consent.

Thinking about it a little more, that quote is great for the people that get convinced to perform a scene because their partner wants to experience being a sub and might end up traumatizing themselves for what they have done.

Wouldn't do it to yourself under any circumstances, don't do it to others.

  • I think Secretary is good bad representation. Two people figuring out how to navigate their kink, but also learning how to deal with their bad behavior. They are flawed and don't know what they are doing. It's a movie, not an inspiration for life.

  • I know little about the subject, so forgive me if I express myself in the wrong way. I support being inclusive to otherkin, but it seems to me that the changes would require more nuance. My question would be if we can attribute human characteristics so broadly to non human beings. Different demographics experience different realities, changing the language might help, but it might just be something aesthetic that doesn't translate the specifics.

Is this case just a matter of the broadest category being inadequate? Similar to masculine forms being also neutral and general?
