  • I read your post to my wife.

How are you other non-Gen Z women adapting to current fashion?

    Dress like it's 1950

    She's into vintage fashion :)

  • Well, for light conversation...

My buddy got married today. I've known him since high school -- we've both been married and divorced since then, but we still hang out occasionally.

They had a dry wedding at his (now their) church, which was apparently where they had their second date. They're both super religious, so they match pretty well on that front, at least.

  • Cat tax -- the obligatory photo(s) of your lil' helper alongside the shots of your gorgeous patio!

  • Taxes on sugar beets and standards for manufactured foodstuffs, I'd assume. Chopping down the apple tree in your front yard is clearly absurd (or is it? I'm not sure what's too absurd to happen anymore...), but saying that any loaf of bread with more than 20g of sugar must be labeled "cake" and taxed as such? That type of thing has already been happening for years.

  • Looks nice, but it needs more cat tax.

  • You must gather your party before venturing forth.

  • That might be a regional thing. I've rented apartments and duplexes. Some allowed dogs, some didn't. I also recall seeing a lot of breed restrictions in apartment listings that did allow dogs.

Pet rent and/or deposits are also common in those, IIRC which does reinforce your point about the expense.

  • Well, I adored Name of the Wind. It's a great read. But like I said, I've given up hope for that series. I don't believe that the author will ever finish it. I really hate unfinished stories, especially one like this that feels only half-written (yes, half, with 2 out of 3 books written!). So I'm sorry for your sake, that you've gotten sucked into an unfinished tale.

  • I'm so so sorry. Name of the Wind is brilliant. The sequel is decent. But I've given up hope for the series to ever be completed.
