  • buggies destroy the roads

How? I'd always heard that heavier vehicles do more damage to roads, so I'd expect buggies to be on par with bicycles or maybe motorcycles.

    cause fatal accidents

I'm curious about this one, too. Do they tend to drive erratically? I'd think their slower top speeds would make it easier to avoid accidents.

  • So... Just quit your job, and problem solved.

  • are you claiming your job makes you happy? Why don’t you do it for free?

No, turn this around. Everyone needs a way to pay the bills. But there are lots of ways to pay them. Lots of different jobs.

Would you rather work at a job where you're happy or where you're miserable?

A lot of people find their jobs easier if they're on friendly terms with their coworkers.

Please note, this is not the same as being close friends with your coworkers.

  • Same. I'm cackling

  • Why do you think most people overload their washer?

It's a routine chore that basically everyone has to do. It seems similar to saying that most people wash their dishes wrong

  • Tiny washing machine? 4 loads sounds like a month's worth of clothes to me.

  • I'm pretty happy with my steelseries rival. I've been using it pretty intensively since early 2020.

  • I've started taking notes. "Next time, I want to start out by doing this or that."

Then my only problem is starting the next time and going "Oooh, what about this other thing?" :D

  • For...decades?

I had to go back and read up on the early history of video games. SNES came out in 1991, and yeah - looking at arcade games, Computer Space came out in 1971.

Video games are older than I realized.

  • A lie spreads worldwide before the truth contradicting it can be typed, unfortunately.

  • Well, if anyone knows about rigging elections, Putin certainly qualifies!

  • Alphabet spent $70 billion on stock repurchases last year. Their server costs aren't a problem.

  • Eh, depends imo.

Civilization? PC all the way. Ratchet & Clank? God of War? I had a lot of fun playing them on consoles. IDK whether they would have worked as well on PC.

Knights of the Old Republic? I played on PC in spite of the awful UI port from console mode.

  • climate change, tipping point

Yeah, fair point. The bit about "coldest, hottest, wettest, driest" is pure BS, though. I need receipts if you honestly believe that, but I think it's just an ill-considered rhetorical flourish.

    fascism problems

    Definitely not unprecedented.

    aliens

OK, now you've lost me. I'm not terribly interested in going into conspiracy-theory land.

  • Technically, all times are unprecedented since we don't repeat years!

The times we're living in? Definitely tumultuous, definitely not unprecedented. Political strife? There are obvious comparisons being made with the 1930s or the 1850s. Covid? The Spanish flu ravaged the world a century ago. Drug legalization? How about the end of Prohibition?

It turns out that a lot of people really just like shouting "unprecedented" because it makes their speech sound more dramatic.

  • This really annoys me, too. The layout makes me think there's new, different information in each spot, but really it's hardly more than repeating the headline 3 times :(
