  • The status quo is fascism. Civility with fascists is fascism. Your team gives the impression that as long as the bad stuff happens overseas or in poor neighborhoods, and you aren't forced to look at it, then all is right with the world. You're upset because a few million people refuse to cosign terror and genocide, while I'm upset that hundreds of millions are so willing.

  • No, you've misunderstood me. You can't enact policies if you don't win, right? And you won't get reelected if people feel you bullshitted about your promises. So first step is winning, right? As I said, there's different ways to win, including lying or telling the truth. Has nothing to do with being "cool" or not. I'm just saying that dem messaging sucks, and their track record sucks.

  • If you're still engaging with them politically, it seems like you should be attacking them in order to force them to take popular positions. If you're just going to vote blue no matter who, then you have zero political influence.

  • You're relitigating the past. You might as well blame dem voters rather than others if you're going to do that. We are in year one of Trump's term. We should all be going full blast on how complicit the democrats are with all of this shit. We should all be shouting at dems how fucking garbage we think their policies are, and how we won't be wasting our time voting for them. We should be clear about what we want, and what we won't accept. And all that is only really for people that have any hope for that party.

  • It's ironic of you to ask me what the goal of elections is. As far as I can tell, democrats worship the status quo and civility. I used to think that democrats didn't utilize political power when they had it, because that would be "tacky" or something. Now I've seen enough to realize that they don't really want to change anything. If you keep voting for people like that, what can you possibly hope to achieve, aside from just to "win"?

  • The democrats are one of the two "legs" that have been marching us to where we are today. It is better that people stop thinking they will protect us in any way from fascism, when they have been merrily helping to implement it. I get that you still feel it's worth engaging with them as a political party even though you may find them abhorrent. The dem base in the other hand, loves them. Nothing better than the status quo, no matter how bad that gets!

  • A system where literal genocide "is not on the ballot" is a wholly irredeemable system. Please understand that democrats are as responsible for Trumpism as republicans. Oh how people miss Obama, yet even with two terms in office, he failed to make any fundamental changes that could have prevented Trump. Democrats pose no credible opposition to republicans, because they are fundamentally incapable (unwilling) to address the problems we are facing. Basically the same foreign policy, and halfhearted reformist approaches to domestic issues. Republicans have all the wrong answers, but people see them fighting to implement them.

  • All the suffering and death that Israel has caused for decades, is purely the result of its insulation from consequences. If Israel had to face any real resistance to its behavior, it would be forced to negotiate in good faith like a normal country.

  • This weekend, sure. However, protests like what are happening in LA are different. Rather than just being symbolic or performative, they are actually disrupting ICE activity. Every community needs to follow LAs example and protect their neighbors.
