  • You raise some good points in here and down below. I'm wondering if people have to go through all the trouble to have someone else conceive a child, why not just adopt? No one has to risk their health and you'd be giving a child a (hopefully) better life.

  • "Friends of Goodwill, be dissatisfied with your work until every handicapped and unfortunate person in your community has an opportunity to develop to his fullest usefulness and enjoy a maximum of abundant living"

Very powerful statement, but I somehow doubt they'd be so committed to the spirit of it. Like someone else said, companies are allowed to underpay disabled employees.

  • Shit that looks delicious but maybe they just weren't hungry (could have eaten before). And I don't mean to disrespect you but you did not have to do this much for watching a wrestling game. Though it does suck 2 people flaked.

  • Oh that makes sense. If you really are afraid he could be violent towards you, it might be best to visit him or have a phone call and hash it out. Could be he was misled growing up, I wouldn't put it past the father putting those ideas in his head.

  • Don't get me wrong I feel very bad for him, but it sounds like he ended up like his father. Clearly he doesn't want your help and even thinks you were a bad guy in his life. I would never do the whole "pick on your brother" thing and would do everything to protect mine but if he behaved like your's does then what can you really do?

Also if he does go after your mom and stepdad, so what? They sound like they deserve it anyways.

Little edit: the rest of the commenters sound even colder actually. Like damn, sure, OP's brother might not be his legal responsibility but I don't think he should completely abandon him. Clearly there is a bond and he cares for him in spite of how the brother is acting (otherwise the post wouldn't exist).

OP, maybe send the brother a letter: offer to help him (if you still want to, otherwise wish him well or something) or to mutually cease contact. It sounds like his life has just spiraled out of control, so he may appreciate having a choice.

  • As stupid as it is, hoping to see the results. It does sound like a neat experiment but even if it is "successful" (my definition probably differs from their's), a good teacher is more than just a learning tool. AI would never replace the empathy and dedication.
