  • The most fucked up part of this is the fact that the FBI is involved. I'm old enough to remember a time when someone vandalizing a few cars in a lot at 3 in the morning when nobody was around would be a local PD issue, and not the fucking FBI. Seems like it was only a couple of months ago... man, time flies.

Seriously, though - in a normal world, this would be far below the payroll of FBI agents. They would spend their time investigating terrorist organizations or child traffickers and bounce this shit back to LVMPD and tell Tesla to file an insurance claim. Instead, the head of the FBI is the lackey of the president, who owes his position to the billionaire that owns Tesla, and so now the FBI is serving as Elon Musk's personal private investigators. It's disgusting.

  • I remember last time around, Trump talked in his press conferences about Muslim prayer rugs being found at the Mexican border, which is a thing that did not happen in reality, but was a plot point in "Sicario". I'm guessing this time around, he's basing his foreign policy on "Canadian Bacon".

  • I dunno, man. Seems like a leap to believe he's doing it for cynical, shady business reasons when the far more likely explanation is just that he's a stupid cunt.

  • It'd definitely be a more worthy destination for my tax dollars than where they're currently going. I support this initiative.

  • Makes me wonder about the connotations behind Emily Dickinson's family name...

  • I deleted my Reddit account back when they fucked over the 3rd party apps, but I still do browse their site. Much as I think that Lemmy is the superior platform, Reddit still has a huge numbers advantage, and so the amount of content over there is much greater than here.

Any time I go into the comments section, though, I am reminded that Reddit is a shithole. So I try to stay out of those and just read the linked articles.

  • I think you've completely misunderstood what has happened in this conversation, and instead of looking at it with fresh eyes and realizing you've fucked up, you're doing the whole Skinner meme and going: "Am I having a problem understanding the context? Nope - it's everybody else who's wrong."

Edit: Like, I get it. Dude's from lemmy.ml, the bad place with all of the tankies. He might even be a tankie, in which case, fuck him. But I think that if you look at this thread with fresh eyes, you'll realize that he was not defending Trump, but pointing out that "they rigged the election" is something that Trump has said continuously for more than 5 years about Biden, and so when he says: "they rigged the election", you have to kind of assume that that's what he's talking about.

Edit #2: Then again, you do come off as incredibly smug, so maybe you are incapable of removing ego from the equation.

  • Bro - Trump has been yelling that Biden rigged the 2020 elections for more than 5 years now. He started saying that Biden rigged the elections a couple of months BEFORE the elections even took place. It's like his fucking catch phrase at this point.

I don't know if you've just been living under a rock or whatever, but the guy you responded to absolutely was not endorsing it. He was just referencing it. It's something that Trump rambles about constantly.

  • Yeah, I figured they'd already had contingency plans in place in case the US did the dumbest thing possible in the 2024 elections. I mean, last time this traitor was president, he sent lists of the names and locations of US spies to Russia, and then in a completely unrelated series of accidents that followed, several of them died.

  • Any intelligence agency worth its salt should know by now that any secrets they share with the US will also be shared with Russia. Or anybody who pays a million dollars to go to a party at Mar a Lago so they can flatter Trump in person.

Every world intelligence agency should consider the US to be completely compromised at this point.

  • Ultimately, if they both do Russia's bidding, though, it's a distinction without a difference. Whether coward or asset, they're all traitors.

  • I'm not just talking about Trump. Nearly the entire Republican party is compromised as well. Also, there's Elon Musk and who knows how many other wealthy, high power individuals. Obviously, they weren't all bought with cash, but even collecting compromising secrets on them is time consuming and expensive. You kind of have to respect the hustle, even though the end result is the complete destruction of the last vestiges of our democracy.

  • Well I, for one, am shocked that our Russian-controlled puppet government is acting like a Russian-controlled puppet government.

It probably was incredibly expensive to buy Trump's victory, but you can't argue that Vladdy Poot Poot isn't getting value for his money.

  • Mega

    Jump
  • I hope he dies, I hope all of the people on your list die.

Well, seeing as how that's a statistical certainty, I suppose I shall join you in hell by saying "I hope all of the people on that list die SOON."

  • It certainly would put a novel wrinkle into things.
