  • Do you have any statistics regarding how likely a water eruption is? Because I microwaved water daily for nearly a decade without issue.

The turnstile removes most of the risk because super heating is a lot more difficult with moving water. Plus, most glasses aren't perfectly smooth and have plenty of imperfections to provide nucleation points.

  • You have to be pragmatic, though. There's a time and place to push for progress, and this isn't either. You need to stop the house from burning down before you can renovate it.

If 2028 even happens, it'll be a fight to reclaim the country. That means the person with the best chance of winning needs to run. AOC is not that person this year.

You have to remember that the vast majority citizens aren't anywhere near as informed on anything related to politics as the people here are. This is by design thanks to mass media. You have to field a person that appeals to the most people, and a Hispanic woman doesn't do that.

It's really fucking stupid that things are this way, but people are really fucking stupid. Tim Waltz is a very likable old white man, and that's what will win an election.

  • This is why your 401k should be set it and forget it.

Pulling money out because the market took a large downturn is a rookie mistake. If the economy crashes to the extent it likely will, the money you pulled out will be worthless (especially since I bet Trump thinks you can just print more money to fix a recession).

The market will eventually bounce back, though. All you're doing by selling is helping the rich get more wealth since they're buying up everything for cheap.

For example, during the great depression an entire town pooled their money and bought shares of Coke and left them. Every family that did so ended up very wealthy.

  • Sugar is actually super cheap, relatively. Especially if you're talking about corn based sugars. Gotta love corn subsidies.

I would have said that, but I seem to remember reading that sugar isn't as big of a deal as TV made it seem.

  • This is basically how I treat my lawn and it stays green year round for free unlike my neighbor who spends $400 a month watering his monoculture bullshit.

Basically the only help I give my lawn is letting it grow for a month after the last freeze so the shit that survived last year's neglect can spread and put down roots.
