  • That's not really my take, nor yours is being brought up by you here for the first time in the history of political science.

Like I said, of course I see the appeal of that stance, and it may be, especially while pressed by very real active oppression of these day and age, a great leap forward for society, but, ultimately, such a government is not the expression of a dynamic society that shape a just society, it's an impersonal government that doesn't care about what's going on.

  • I'm not necessarily disagreeing but there's surely an issue when the focus shifts from "Queer people exists and have legitimate rights that need to be addressed" to "let's make everything free so that even queer people can find their space, maybe".

A government that doesn't concern itself with anything (but the defense of rights the like of private property) is not necessarily as appealing as one may think.

  • "A Short Hike" for sure, "What Remains of Edith Finch" could fit and nobody mentioned it.

Superflight is great and quite different from most of the suggestions you are getting.

(The Stanley Parable I don't think fits but if you want to try it out I suggest you do not take the "Deluxe" version and sitck to the original one)

  • Yes except we are talking about the government of the USA? Markets law are warped in this context. Do you think they sell those? To who? To what purpose, finance healthcare spending? The phone may call home and have things patched? You think they are unable to prevent a phone to call home?

    What?

  • The speed of sound is commonly used as "the speed of sound in the atmosphere", so something around 1200 Km/h.

Either way if a creature like that existed, you'd have to question what we are looking at, it's either NOT a galaxy in space, maybe a bunch of luminescent pollens or insects, or, if we are indeed in space, this would be definitive proof that there's some intelligent creator out there and the laws of the universe are clearly arbitrary.

It would still be unclear why such a specific silly event would take place, so I guess we'd have to give much more credit to the simulation theory.

So I guess it'd close its mouth faster than the speed of light.

  • "Should have seen" is strange, I'll go with titles that, if you are into cinema probably you have heard about?

    Citizen Kane

    The Seventh Sigil

    Apocalypse Now

    Vertigo (Any Hitchcock movie really)

Seven Samurai (Any Kurosawa movie really)

Pretty much anything from Buster Keaton

Charlie Chaplin (I guess Modern Times)

The Godfather part I & II

    Taxi Driver

On the Waterfront (Peak Marlon Brando stuff)

Some Truffaut stuff (I guess "Day for Night" would be the most relevant here)

Close Encounters of the Third Kind to get pretty much everything interesting from the Spielberg side of things

Man with a Camera (ok this one is not something I espect any conema lover to know, it's a very early montage wonder from Russia, always good to get back there and get reminded progress doesn't always go forward)

    La Dolce Vita

    2001: A Space Odyssey

    Shining

    A Clockwork Orange

    Reservoir Dogs

Lost Highway (The better Mulholland Drive)

    Blade Runner

    The Matrix

    Star Wars

There's some good newer stuff but it's much less "popular" so it wouldn't make sense to expect anybody to know them. Very little new stuff looks like has the staying power to be relevant years down the line.

I guess The Lord of the Rings? But I consider it more of a great book that got a quality adaptation than a ground breaking stepping stone of cinema.

No country for old men, probably.

  • How is it expensive? It is if it eqates to the zero day becoming of public domain, and this is not the case here. They can say they guessed the password while in fact they exploited some unknown vulnerability...

  • Yea basically the album transitions from a cringe Slim Shavy vs Eminem bunch of stuff into a Slim Shady being killed turning it into more of a solo "classic" Eminem.

It's littered with reference and remix of his older lyrics and tracks, which is nice in a maybe too nostalgic kind of way, but as and old millennial, I still think playing the offensive Slim Shady character and putting it next to a "reformed" Emined that yells "OMG you can't say that nooooo!" is, at best, dumb as fuck and smells of "Marshall you don't really get the point do you?".

But to be fair none of what he was saying back in the 2000s was any more acceptable. You listened to it without possibly agreeing to it.

  • I think it's mostly the third. There's lots of escapism readily and effectively available, both practical and ideological.

I think the oppressors just got too good at their job, in a way.

  • I was hoping for some Proxmox magic dynamic allocation of resources, CPU cores and RAM between the two VMs. I have 16Gb RAM anyway so I should have plenty...

I guess I'll play around starting from those much needed USB to SATA powered cables.

  • There a dozens of us!

So I guess I can build a new VM and this won't impact too heavily on my computational power (mostly Jellyfinn streaming 1080p stuff), correct?

Is there any way around the impending... running out of USB? Would a usb-C dongle be a nono?

Either way, thanks for the great answer.

  • TIL.

It sounds like it's mostly a matter that does not involve the AI but the people working on it, maybe even working on it because of the fear they are subjected to after being the subject of this revelation (possibly by other people involved in the AI that coincidentally are the only ones that could push for such a thing to be included in the AI!).

Something something any cult, paradise/hell, God/AI has nothing to do with this and could even not exist at all.
