  • Let me expand, as I usually deal with surveys and population feedback. There's loud feedback, and there's statistically significant feedback.

People who want a headphone jack are very loud. They will interject this issue into every feedback opportunity given. They will mention it on the comment sections, forums, q&a sessions, answer their surveys accordingly, etc. That's all fine and their prerogative.

However, when you look at the statistics. They are unfortunately a very tiny minority of the entire population. They are not statistically significant for decision making. They don't have the volume to move sales significantly. This sucks, of course, and I personally wouldn't mind the return of headphone jacks, smaller phones and bigger batteries as a fair trade for thicker phones.

But unfortunately, the vast majority of the market is pre-occupied with other things. The phone screen is too small, the phone weights too much, the phone is too thick, I want to bring my phone to the pool without fear of it breaking, etc. They are not as passionate about it, not like the headphone people are, but they far outnumber them in several orders of magnitude. In the end, if the product doesn't sell, it won't matter how much it was worth to a single passionate person. It will sink the company if it doesn't have mass appeal. Making phones is already an extremely expensive endeavor.

  • Not the issue here. It seems like OP wants a sexual toy for intimacy. Definitely don't go looking for that type of relationship in friend and hobby spaces. But most of my friend's relationships came out of friendships built on said social circles. My longest relationship ever (now ended for other reasons) came from a videogaming club, a friend of a friend.

  • Not a leap. I'm basing my comment on the replies from OP that said that he is probably gonna divorce his wife — gigantic red flag, looking for dating advice not having being done with the previous relationship, but maybe that's just me — because they were highly independent, drifted apart and wife leaving wasn't even a lifestyle changing event. Maybe OP wouldn't be divorcing if he considered women as something other than a source of romantic and sexual exchange separate from company, friendship and sharing a lifestyle. I'm just saying, OP sounds very sus.

  • Then, what? You want a GF to lock her emotionally away from the rest of your life? Wouldn't it be nice to share a hobby or personal interest with someone you are romantically and sexually involved in, too?

  • It may, but that is in armed and ready bombs. Nukes are stored with the explosives separate from the fissible material.

That point is moot though. As we know Iran is still years away from a nuclear bomb, because Trump and Netanyahu are liars. As evidence by the fact there is no radioactive spill from the facilities destroyed. Either Iran didn't have the material there yet, or they already built the bombs and they are stored elsewhere. The first scenario seems more likely.

  • One-point safety is about preventing a nuclear yield when one of the explosives inside the nuke go off by accident and not all of the detonation triggers. It does help to prevent accidental nuclear yield if the nuke is destroyed by an external explosion. But you're understimaing how extremely difficult it is to initiate a nuclear fission event. Not only should all the trigger explosives go off, the fission material has to be hit by the explosion from the right place and in a correct sequence and timeframe. Else the fission won't start.

Bombs are even stored separate from the explosives sometimes, for extra safety. The biggest issue with these attacks is radioactive material contamination. The risk of a nuclear explosion from bombing a weapons development or storage site is one in billions.

  • The sad truth is that the majority of people are treating WhatsApp exactly as a social network. It is there to send memes and stickers. See what others are up to without having to interact. Then mindlessly scroll through reels. Ocassionally purchase something via chat with a corporate bot.

  • Size is only a proof of logistics. Not tech. Physics don't change fundamentally between 6 meters and 120 meters. You learn a lot from scale modeling without the added costs. Starship's real challenge is actually the logistics necessary to fulfill the desired specifications and experimenting with engineering to reach the scale. The most innovative aspect of Starship would be orbital refueling, and they aren't there since the thing hasn't reached orbit yet. SpaceX problem right now is insisting on high turnover engineering, which doesn't work at scale without heavy costs, because it is a logistic problem, not a engineering problem.

  • No, here war mongering is the correct term. It's a layman's expression to denote a particular political attitude that seeks to stir conflict for political gains or profit. It has no legal connotation either. You might be interested on the term war profiteering, a term that doesn't exist under International Humanitarian Law, but has been discussed for its ethical implications.

  • I keep all my ebooks neatly categorized in Calibre. I also keep track on Storygraph. I still register what I read once in a while, but don't bother with any of the reading streak pressure because it causes me anxiety. I love checking once a year and see that, despite the fact that my currently reading list never goes down. My read list is always growing (as well as my to-read list). So I decided to stop worrying and just enjoy whatever it is I'm reading at the moment without pressure.

  • It's possible to hold two thoughts at once. That both Iran is ruled by an authoritarian and retrograde regime. And, that Israel and the US are threatening the Iranian people with death in order to put a new authoritarian retrograde regime in power, but one that obeys Israel mandates.

Both things are true, and they both suck.
