  • For video play. Turning the phone from portrait to landscape automatically opens the video full screen instead of just turning the webpage.

  • They'll simply call it Android 15. Market it as a major security standard to make Apple look less safe.

  • Using Signal for SMS was one of the only good ways to convince the masses to switch in the first place. It was blatantly obvious which messages were secure or not since they were labeled as such.

Then: "Hey, you should use Signal for SMS. Our conversations will be encrypted and you can still text Grandma."

Now: Grandma uses FB Messenger, tied to her SMS also.

  • Soap.

Soap breaks the surface tension of water (allowing it to break up whatever is on you). Shower/bath water will spread more evenly across your skin than chlorinated pool water.

  • Dropping GMail and FB Messenger. Switched to Protonmail and Signal/TG. To hell with Big Tech.

  • The goal in Iraq was to remove the dictator that we helped put in power 40 years ago, establish a democracy, and win the hearts and minds of the citizenry to further those goals. Rape and indiscriminate murder wouldn't be an effective strategy there.

  • If you REALLY believe what you just wrote, I truly feel sorry for you. Also, this is hardly a shower thought; but is definitely a misguided statement based on your wild imagination.

The only factual part of your diatribe against US veterans, is the precept for war being a lie (allegedly also, since some claim they saw WMDs).

Vets have PTSD from many causes including getting blown to pieces from IED's, seeing their friends get killed or blown up, actual back and forth combat, indiscriminate mortar fire, death, destruction, even as simple as being in the theater.

So, stop this "they must have done horrific unspeakable shit so they have PTSD and can't talk about it.". There's probably a few dudes on the special teams that may fit your idea of mission secrecy, but you'll never know or hear about those missions anyway.

  • My favorite was getting locked out of a multi-year account that had paid GPlay apps that required an active account to run. The app purchases are tied to the account so they effectively stole those subscription fees.

I still have to maintain a G account for that one app. (Radarscope)

  • Thanks for this, I was unaware.

    Calls turned off completely now.

  • If you have your cookies set to auto-delete or have any kind of Erase All History on exit settings, they will remove your active login.

  • Every time you mention Lemmy outside of Lemmy, you get questions about Motorhead. If you type Lemmy into Google search, you get pages of results about the rock star.

  • At what point will even the smaller companies stop providing that support, and how do we as a community combat the eventual end of it?

  • I agree. Sadly, adoption doesn't come from people already doing the tech thing. It comes from making privacy and security E.A.S.Y.
