  • Unless lasik has significantly changed, last I looked it lasts ~10 years and you can only do it twice

Iirc how long it lasts depends on the person. And most people take two at most as its usually good after the second correction, for those who actually need the second (not all people need it)

  • Thats only because all web browsers on IOS need to use webkit mandated by Apple. However there are legal challenges in the UK claiming that mandatory use of webkit is anti competitive, so IOS may soon have blink/gecko based browsers.

  • Treat it like email, except emails are public(posts) and your instance can block sending and reciving emails from another instance. You are not required to create a new email with that instance to interact with a post unless that server has blocked your instance.

E.g someome with gmail is free to message people using yahoo, outlook, proton, but may block some domains (e.g spam domains)

  • Its what AB 1532 is trying to achieve in California. Given that the building is already there, there will be less vectors for nimbys to prevent the construction of said building (as its already up and approved)

  • Theyre only connecting series together because Disney wants to ultimately do their rendition of Secret Wars (happened in the comic series in 2015). They threw the hints by including the concept of incursion in the multiverse of madness. Its also why fantastic 4 is getting a reboot, despite the countless number of times it failed. Dr Doom is essential for Secret Wars to happen.

  • There are Chromebooks that do approach 1000$.

To take a more luxury approach, Framework has a chromebook edition of their laptop, which has the same hardware except a different motherboard firmware as chromebooks require a titan chip onboard.

  • If its a modern intel laptop, its likely the PL2 clocks. The PL2 level is basically a time interval where the cpus run at a higher boost clock than sustained turbo, and ia defined to run at that for a short time period (e.g about 40 seconds) before clocking to the standard boost clocks (PL1). Its why laptops heat up fast and ramp very quickly. It makes processors seem faster than they are. (Similar to like running speed in a 40 yard/meter dash vs a marathon running speed)
