  • As long as chinese cars pass local saftey regulations and arent as bad inteoduction wise as Vinfast (whose western introduction to the market was abysmal) they'll do fine. The key is the UX, and if BYD repeats what vinfast did pushing a vehicle out the door too early, its going to be a bad time.

  • Machine learning is only as good as the dataset it has, and given that english has a HUGE data set on the internet, its okay at it, but it makes sense that for other languages, its likely not ideal.

An example would is art. Look up one using a smaller data set (e.g fully legal ones where all training data had artist permission) vs ones trained on the larger dataset where legality wasnt a concern. Night and day difference

  • Its not that its bad, but usually its extra steps.

Most games. In particular ones running directx, use xinput, microsofts input library, which basically maps out to a generic 360 controller.

Controllers that arent designed explicitly for xinput use (many 3rd party controllers do, in particular one designed with pc in mind, but not all) like nintendo and sony controllers (for obvious reasons) use the legacy dinput communication, which not all games support.

Generally you can get around this via steam big picture mode, which uses steams controller API to map Dinput to Xinput automatically, else you have yo use 3rd party software for full compatibility (e.g ds4windows, dll mods) if the game or application does not natively support dinput.

The best situation would be of course, just plug and play, and open up all features of a controller to thr computer, bonus points if it changes the on screen input commands to the controller youre using (some pc games already do that natively)

  • The physical key and a keyfob is like manual vs automatic. It doesn't fully prevent your car from being stolen, but it does make it harder to steal said car.

I love to blame how terrible software and ux is in cars as theyre very unreliable, but yes, a lot of this is a port problem

  • Thats more due to Nvidia making both Frame Generation, Upscaling and the original use, Anti Aliasing (the SS in DLSS is super sampling) the same term.

Realistically, DLSS should be referred to as an anti aliasing technique(like TAA is) but it was basically colloquially hijacked to turn into an upscaling tech.

  • I think the distinction is need. I dont like it when its mandatory, but i dont mind that the option is there. E.g some people like preheaing their oven on the drive home(or a warning that something on the stove is on if accodently left on), or in case of the dryer, when its done.

One common one I think is helpful is those who may have forgotton to close their garage. Easy way to check without having to drive back and do so.

  • Part of the reason was because of sms pricing on thr earlier days. Sms was quickly free in the U.S, so they used sms because it was there. Many regions used whatsapp and similar to avoid sms charges in the early days. That usage habit still exists today

  • not the guy, but I have mine on a Sata SSD and I don't think my loading times are the same as his, so I'd expect either slow CPU or on a Hard Drive (going against the minimum requirements that the game should be played on a SSD)

  • I mean id argue Skyrim isnt that great to look at either, given its a continent full of tombs and snow due to its climate. Its just gray and white.

Both Morrowwind and Oblivion had more interesting places to look at than skyrim did.

  • Iirc older trucks didnt, the upcoming trucks they have coming in should. I dont think the company has made a wide switchover to the new trucks yet.

I believe the transition starts next year. It was a very recent initiative. Old trucks are supposed to at leat get fans.

  • where did i state that I said it's more important. I only stated that ignoring the main group of people that the article is discussing is a pretty dumb fix.

there are a lot of adjustments a person could make per month due to less income, and housing doesn't have to be first. if one is spending 1000$ on groceries for a group, but someone barely making it by is making it with less means there's discrepancy in spending habits with groceries. can dial it down to the rest. Same goes with Children and other choices of spending, but it ultimately goes down to fixing costs because thats whats boning everyone, while the original comment chain was about fixing debt (in a way that doesn't help everyone, as there are already regions and people who are completely unaffected by income tax), which not exactly everyone who cant afford 500$ month to month is necessarily in.

Income tax is not a fix, its a band aid that works for some that makes no progress on fixing the actual problem and only kicks it down the road for the discussion to happen again later. You haven't even discussed what happens when there is no income tax and things get expensive enough then, what are you going to do then? You had all the time to discuss it at the point I mentioned some people already pay no income tax.

  • Its the consumption of of water. One of the plants that is likely targeted by the tax is alfalfa, which is a plant used for animal feed. The top importers of alfalfa is china, uae and saudi arabia. Alfalfa is a very water intensive plant and most of its grown in the southwest/California.

It basically makes states $ at the cost that its a huge water drainer. Albeit not Arizona, keep in mind in california, resident use of water is only like 5% of the supply, and wouldnt be suprised of Arizona would be similar. Were in a drought basically to subsidize the price of poultry/cattle for other major nations

  • Only banking companies who handle monetary transactions with the sites can exert power. E.g they were the ones who basically required users on PH to be verified to post videos because of issues of traffiking and illegal videos being uploaded.

  • So your answer to fixing a problem is lowering imcome tax? A solution that doesnt even fix the problem for the target audience in the first place. Its nonsensical to completely ignore the likely largest group of people that need the help.

The people who have debt in mortgages is based on what kind of home they bought. Its an opportunity cost on why they chose x home over what might have been the cheapest home they could have bought (not saying that there arent people who just buys the cheapest home possible in an area, but they arent likely the majoirty). The person who has a mortgage at least has a house, the people that cant afford the 500 month to month emergency fund likely has nothing.

I wont even get to the point where its the people who have houses are the ones making it harder for more houses to get built because they want to maintain the value of their house at the cost of those who have not.
