It’s an alternative digital store for PC games with a focus on older games (often bundled with special patches, sourced from the community or from their team), DRM-free install files (their launcher is optional) and a curated store. They’re based in Poland and follow GDPR and EU consumer protection laws in addition to their local laws. It is a bit inconvenient on the Deck (Heroic works great though), but it‘s good to have some options to not fuel Steam‘s de facto monopoly.
I like Morrowind's interface better, too, with the optional window managing and selecting dialogue options from within text. But the icon-only inventory is atrocious. I have to hover every single icon to know what it is. I hope OpenMW will spawn a mod or something that will offer an alternative.
I accepted the fact that I'm not someone who replays games other than a few selected nostalgic titles so I bought it and can't wait for this to fully release (and finally the promised SteamDeck support).
I will probably play it, but this is not patient at all.
