I know a couple users that don't care about configing and just want a good gaming compositor, hyprland can fill that if they do an actually decent job with the configs

it'd sad that aves doesn't support jxl since for me its rather critical now.

I found it doesn't have great performance sadly. Can be significantly slower then fossify for rendering images.

None of it is "that bad". However its understandable if contributors want to separate out and have a more open governance.

As long as they keep the licenses open where both projects can pick and choose. Some forks do so "maliciously" and change licenses to prevent upstream from pulling changes back.

I don't understand why you thought i was talking about bringing them benefits, but since you brought it up, I often donate to projects I use and do extensive testing on git branches on nearly all the software I can.

well, it would be nice if they added some more features to the app since its pretty bare bones. Otherwise I dont see myself migrating to this.

can you explain your train of thought here? GNU taler is finally an open source payment system buisnesses can actually use without needing to jump through a bunch of legal loopholes and headaches

iirc they did have some mechanisms to prevent token fraud but I honestly can't remeber how it was implemented.

yeah, but pslink does still require hid/playstation. this is an newer replacement to joystick/xpad with more features. IMO that is more or less roughly the same there.

nether ps4 nor ps5 have working audio over bluetooth, and they also have high latency. PS5 controllers also don't support the enhanced rumble since it also uses audio. I don't use 8bitdo any more due to constant the enshitification of their hardware, but I doubt they support low latency with audio either.

Microsoft could do a firmware update to fix their worthless broken shit, Bluetooth is like 20 years old now, you’d think even a company with their heads that far up their asses could get it right by now. For the dongle, have it present hid.

Should directly use Pipewire instead of Pulseaudio

I hope they plan on keeping pulse for the foreseeable future. Pipewire is great and all but pulse is very entrenched, I still maintain quite a bit of systems that are pulse only.

until they give us android like permissions handling and always off by default with a proper request when needed, meh.

GTK itself is a massive pain to get theming working stably. I recently did an update and no I am missing minimize and maximize on all my GTK apps, Im sure the issue is with some config I made at some point, but the fact that this can be an issue at all and be so hard to diagnose is really, really dumb

VLC on android kinda sucks sadly. It has bad performance and when playing remote playlists it's gui is crap.
